Re: 17000 Km's and need new tyres already wtf?

I have the A/T3 too and so far they are great. Only 2000kms though.

The cooper warranty is pro-rata. If you prove the maintenance has been up to scratch, then you get a discount off your replacement tyre. So if you get only 50000kms out of a tyre instead of 60000km, you get a 17% discount on the replacement. It doesnt cover punctures, cuts and other damage by road hazards, or offroad hazards. It's purely on tread wear.

The tyres also have to be bought and normally used in a capital city though. The warranty will still be honoured if you go on trips out bush.

Ally not sure what you mean by full story? They had a really poor wear rate, and jeep replaced them for that reason

Re: 17000 Km's and need new tyres already wtf?

I'm having Cooper Xeon LTZ 275/55/R20s fitted to mine this week. I'll keep the kuhmos for a rainy day. I would have bought them from the states but Tirerack don't stock Coopers and I couldn't find another US dealer who ships to Australia. The Coopers are approximately 50% cheaper in the states, so even with shipping I would have saved $300-$500. Damn.

According to the dealer, I snagged the the last four Xeon LTZ in this size in Australia. He initially told me they didn't come in that size.

I was originally going to buy a set of 18" wheels and put off road tyres on those. The extra sidewall height of these will mean I can use these offroad and save the hassle of swapping wheels.

Well at a little over 70,000km the Kumho's finally bit the dust, went with a set of Cooper LTZ's 285-50-20, sure do look like they gonna work a whole lot better off road, have try 'em out on the weekend... Then a trip out to silverton in few weeks on our "way" to the Moto GP at phillip Island, can't wait!

Re: 17000 Km's and need new tyres already wtf?

Ah yes, prices vary a lot it seems, I got quoted anywhere from $480 to $350ea crazy eh.... Anyway, I'm in Sydney this week and got them at Bob Jane Brookvale on the northern beaches for $350 fitted and balanced, not sure if thats a special price or not as I've been going there for years, if your in syd ring for a quote I guess.... Oh, a new shipment just arrived this week, so there should be plenty available.... PS, they are a touch noisier than the Kumho's, but I guess that any tyre that has tread on it will be.....

Re: 17000 Km's and need new tyres already wtf?

Had Cooper ATR3's on my previous GC and the ride and handling was exceptional, every 5k I did a tyre rotation and wheel alignment and at 25k tyres still looked new and that was running them at the dealers 36psi, dealer said I could have expected 60 to 70k out of them. Will be putting them on the new rig when the OEM ones wear out.

tyre companies maethe tryes for car companies to meet that price
