Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Interesting they don't seem as fat on the rim as my Nitto's, assuming the rims are 20x8.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Needing to replace my original Kumos 20inch (2012 WK2 Overland). If you have the time I'd be interested in your experience, choices, preferences or recommendations between the Coopers A/T 3 265/50R20 and the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 same size.

Comfort, noise and fuel economy is important as I barely got out of Sydney or off the bitumen with these tyres BUT I do have plans to do Syd-Mt Isa-Darw-Alice-Adel-Kang Island-Syd in Sept.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

I've had the Coopers on my two Jeeps and very happy with them, now having done a combined 100,000km . A great all purpose tyre. I'm about to get a new set of the LT's this week.

Where you are going, you are hardly likely to come upon an unsealed road let alone off-road and if comfort, noise, fuel economy and of course safety is important to you, it makes no sense to consider an A/T tyre. My recommendation is to go to the websites of your tyre manufacturers of choice, see what they are offering as standard for your car, then choose the premium option. It's not wise to try to out guess the experts when your family's safety is involved.

I have 18" Bridgestone D697 LT's which I really like but that's because I occasionally go on very rough tracks in places where I really don't want to get a puncture. I realise I'm compromising comfort, noise, fuel economy and safety on road but that's a compromise I'm aware of and prepared take.

Nitto's will do a good job, quite as. Good prices too.

Nittos terra graplers are good and give you the "agressive" apperence. I find it a bit noisier but then again, probably the same with all muddies/chunky grips...

As they wear, the nittos can be slippery in the rain. Im still hesitant to purchase them again next round or not.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

As we do mostly highway, we went with the Khumo KL33 Crugens. Quiet and seem to be wearing well too.
I say mostly highway as it is the Wife's daily drive and they were repairing the school car park one day, so she counts the 20m stretch of gravel as "off road".

You're trying to troll me with the "aggressive" thing, aren't you?

Mate apparently we D697 drivers are all the same.

Head Lights on the highway = Move - Not allowed by the wife.
Horn (more than 20 nano seconds) = Not happy/Move/Your an idiot - Not allowed by the wife.
Me following the wife - have to travel 2 to 3 KM/hr faster to keep up with her in the Go Kart (2016 Focus Sport).

BUT APPARENTLY I am the hoon and the aggressive one.

Figure that one out??????????????????

Advice / Answers?
