Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Have you priced them ?
You had better have a defibrillator handy.
I am happy with my choice of tyre, they look great as well with a 60,000km guarantee.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Have you looked at the Toyo Proxes Enforcer? I ran them on my previous vehicle and found them quite good.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

I had Toyo (cant remember the model) as OEM on my Kluger and they were rubbish.
I spoke to a few tyre places and they all thought the Coopers I was choosing were a great choice. Apparently the RR Sport owners are very keen on them as a replacement for their OEM tyres.
The thing is about tyres is they can suite one car and style of driving, but not another.
I drive quickly on pavement and rarely a dirt road. I have not been 4x4 and do not intend to. I would also be considered a rapid driver, so traction on tar is my priority.

Toyo Open Country HT's saved my life a couple of times in the wet fitted to my last Paj...remarkably good traction. Slippery as a butchers c^ck off road though in anything tougher than wet grass.

No, I was afraid to, but what's that to an Overland owner?

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

One thing I forgot to say is an advantage about these tyres is they are not directional, so they can be properly rotated. Directional tyres are a problem when you want to rotate them, as they can not be cross rotated.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Hi Guys,

I am looking at a set of Cooper H/T Plus tyres for the wifes Gc.

Cooper Tires - Tyres

I have been quoted $350 each for 285/50/20, slightly larger than the stock 265/50/20 but only 3 kmh difference according to the tire calculator below.

http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-...5R20/285-50R20

In other words the 275/45/20 under reads ~3kph and the 285/50/20 over reads ~ 3kph , so bugger all.

Enforcer how have you found the Coopers ?

Cheers

Phil

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

They are great and if you can get them fitted and balanced for $350 each, you are doing very well. I called up 4 places and all were $400. Managed to talk one down to $395.
They grip well and seem to be as quiet as the OEM Khumos.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Hi Enforcer,

Thanks for the review, I found the Coopers cheaper than the crapola std Kumho Ku 21s at $389 each , Dreaming !

I was Quoted Toyo proxes st 2 @ $459 and Pirelli strs @ $600 each

The Coopers varied from $499 for the Ltzs ,to $350 on sale for a set of 4 for the Ht Plus

So Coopers it is

Cheers

Phil
