2014 Fuel Economy

Hi all,

Was wondering if those with 2014's would be able to post a a quick reply with their usage and figures.

It would be good to get an idea of real life figures with the new 8 speed box.

eg.

- Motor
- City/Highway split
- litres/100km

Cheers,
noons

Re: 2014 Fuel Economy

Well mines now got 800 kms on it and i am so happy with it
Dad and i went to toowoomba to pic up my new Jeep
Dad has a 2012 model and we both reset the economy at toowomba and off we went both on cruise
i got exactly .9 L / 100 better than dads with the 5 speed on a 250 km run

i ended up with 6.4 and he got 7.3 on an open road 100 kph on cruise

Round town to and from work im getting 7.6 and its a 50/50 highway town ratio

Hope this helps

if you floor it they do go up quick but i really cant believe how good it is

3.0 CRD
City 9.5 to 10 (generally not me driving).
Hwy reads high 6 to 7 on flat (generally me driving).
Approx 2500 km to date, overall average in the 8.5 to 9.0.
Fuel consumption depends on driver and style. If the other driver would learn to drive a diesel (ie let the torque do it and not use the volume control) it would probably be better.

Converted to US mpg:

235 / 6 = 39 mpg hwy
235 / 7 = 33 mpg hwy
235 / 9.5 = 24.7 mpg city
235 / 10 = 23.5 mpg city

That is very good! Are you running a tuner? What highway speed?

No tuner. Engine is bog standard. Highway speeds are generally 100 (ish).

I'm waiting on a CRD with ORAII. I would be interested in economy with the lower diff ratio of the ORA - does anyone have that, or care to comment on fuel economy differences due to the different diff's?
Thanks,
Russell

CRD Overland

Highway: 7 using ACC and multiple speed changes for roadworks(Sydney to Byron) speed limits 40-110km/h

When I was being aggressive with take over manoeuvres on the way home it was about 7.5

City: 9.5-10 depending on the traffic. Normal driving style. Aggressive starts to bump 10.5-11, but who can drive aggressive in Sydney, it gets you nowhere
