Have to agree about too many ads. Time to load up the phone.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Radio reception for me has been good in and around Perth. There is a bit of interference unfortunately when driving along the freeway next to the rail power lines.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

I really should pause before I buy anything else for this Jeep. First useless thing is the so called bonnet protector...more chance of hitting a roo around here and I doubt BP would casually just flick it over the hood.
Next is the snow gun for the karcher...great fun but one that'll wear off soon.
And now after spending almost 70 bucks on kingpin license plates I decided to upgrade and spend another 300 bucks on Lankins 5 days later...timeout for a holiday methinks 0.0

Whether the car is moving or stationary (but engine running) all the electrical systems in the car reboot and then come back up, there is a error saying "battery voltage low" (which I have had checked and is fine)

Been back to the dealer twice now and so far no firm resolution (they think its either the Power Control Module or the alternator)
So after the fourth time into the dealer for the same issue - one tech case to Jeep (and getting the alternator replaced) it seems to be fixed now.

Seemed to be a wire that had its shielding stripped, causing a short somewhere in the matrix.

Now the car runs like an absolute dream

Good news, glad they eventually found the problem.

No electrical issues from mine. Had a couple of bodywork niggles (both dealer inflicted & corrected) plus this ongoing radio reception nuisance but otherwise the BH is sweet as since mid Sept. Really looking forward to stretching it's legs this Christmas.

Anyone have any leads on obtaining the black wheel nuts/lugs to suit the BH rims? I've seen the Gorilla brand ones on eBay but hoping they might be available in Sydney. Also looking to tint the rear tail lights and plastidipping the window chrome trims. Anyone in Sydney have this done?

I'll see if any recommendations come through this site and if not, I'll give it go myself. Same with the tail tint and other cosmetic mods.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

There's a thread where I posted pics showing holes drilled into the tailgate by the dealership. I took it to an outside Jeep dealership and they suggested to get them to replace it, which would cost $8k all up. So I took it in to my shop today to show the manager and he asked what I wanted to see as a result of their stuff up basically.

I suggested a new tailgate which he estimated to cost $7-8k all up but this would show on the hinge nuts that it had been tampered with. Or his suggestion is to fill the holes and professionally match the paintwork which wouldn't give signs of tampering compared to a new tailgate.

I knew he would suggest this and it does kinda make sense, maybe he can throw in a fitted towbar that would save him $7k?...just wondering if that's reasonable or would the general consensus be to get it replaced.
