Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Liking that grill mesh, is it standard on Blackhawks or did you fit it?

In my case I will need to retrofit the mesh, just not sure if the only option is removing the whole front bumper to install them..

Cheers, Simon

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Simon, the silver honeycomb grille is standard on the Blackhawk.

I am pretty sure there is a thread in the DIY or Exterior section of the forum about grille swaps and it can be done witout removing the entire bumper.

Hey Simon, you probably already know this but those honeycomb inserts come in chrome (Summit) and black (Overland).

The installation threads should have pictures of both fitted.

You'd have to determine where the value to you fits between this range, as both are option, as is everything in between.

If you do take up the offer, I'd be working in some "love" in general. Get them to pick up the tab on some scheduled services, include a premium loan car on any service or warranty visits, VIP access to the coffee machine, etc.

Or have them get it professionally repaired. There does not have to be signs of the rework.

Yeah cheers Steve. At the end of the day I guess no additions are gonna fix it. The GM at the dealership has been understanding but it's either a new tailgate or if it looks odd as in a paint batch differential then it's a new Jeep. A simple bog and spray isn't gonna cut it on a $55k new truck. It may not seem much hidden behind the plates but then again I didn't agree to buy a truck with 2 holes in the bodywork regardless of where they are and if it's not too much of a big deal to the shop then they can have it back. Hopefully it'll teach them not to go self-tapping into vehicles that someone has taken a massive loan out for.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Make an anonymous enquiry as to whether they have another white Blackhawk coming in. If so, tell them you want the tailgate off that.

Factory paint and no repairs

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

I had never really paid attention to the angle of the number plates until these last few posts. I was behind a GC today, and thought Nepean Motor Group did a nice job with this one.

Actually, the Drive car of the year sticker bugged me more.
