Both my front and rear number plate on my new JGC are visibly crooked, both front and rear self tapper screwed into the body/bumper. Pretty disappointing.

Stealership just says its normal and how they do it, they will screw some new holes in to make it line up properly.

It gives you a few seconds before the unlocking mechanism kicks in again so if you push the button then give the handle a tug straight away it will stay locked.

I lock with the button and then pull on the back door to check that it is locked. I haven't found a lock on the tailgate though, unlock by grabbing the handle is there a lock feature on the back door.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

There's a little rubber button inside the handle on the right.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Hi all, New to the garage and love my new Blackhawk.
I have just finished reading all the pages on this thread and would like to offer the following information to some of the questions that have been asked.
when i got the car i had them treat it inside and out with Six Star Solutions electronic rust protection, leather , vinyl, fabric and carpet protection as well as paintwork etc. Cost was about $3300 but i had this type of finish in my old car which was 6 years old and always looked good when it was clean.
They also tinted the front windows in the deal. I also had the tow pack done with a Redarc brake controller installed. I just need to wire up the camera that is on the back of the caravan but i believe that i can't connect it to the Uconnect system so it may take a while to sort out a suitable solution. The car looks so good I don't think i want spoil the look of it by adding extras, but who knows i might find something I really want for it.
Really is one of the nicest cars I have ever driven. Excellent value for money.
I would like to use my old HD dash camera but there is only one 12v plug in the front and i don't want cords all over the place. Was thinking of having the GPS and dash camera hard wired but not sure that is a good idea.
Anyone with a solution will be listened to.

My gps is in the bottom right hand corner, I ran my cable down the side of the dash behind the door rubber under dash behind the steering wheel and popped the cable out along the transmission tunnel and plugged it into the plug in the centre console in front of yhe gearshift. when I got my car back from its first service the dealer hand run the cable under the trim near the transmission tunnel and popped the plug out inside of the cover and plugged it in behind the cover for me. Can't see it at all now...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Dean I've done a quick "how to" on interfacing a caravan camera with Uconnect. It's the last section in my DIY Trailer Wiring thread. Any questions, give us a yell.

MY14 DIY Trailer Socket Wiring

Alternatively the Customtronix Silver or Gold package would allow you to get your caravan camera on the OEM display.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Blackhawk

Thanks gents. I think my local car sound bloke will make a few $$ wiring these in. I like how you did the gps hutch801. mine is in the bottom RH corner and i have routed the cable along the underside of the dash, but it still looks crap so will probably go your way
