My pleasure Sick truck,
Let's know what deals you are offered.
SWAMBO took the GC to Cricks, she was very impressed with the reception and (the service staff member impressed her by reciting the 20k "to do list"). Cricks do have a free loan car - ask when booking. We will go back.

On another subject - Leather creasing.
Are other GC limited owners having issues with the quality of the leather. Ours is the standard black leather. One panel of the drivers seat had heavy "grain" from new. After 20K it is now very accentuated - giving the impression that it will be the first place to crack/fail so we reported it at service. The response was that JA have had a few of these complaints investigated but concluded in each case that the marks are not warrantable - just "wear and tear".

Touch wood there has been no problem with the diesel partial filter and I am now looking forward to heading up north.

Thanks

I can say the base cost for this service is $450. Anything on top of this is cream to the service department. I supplied my own oil and had my service completed for $335.

Hi all,

Long time reader of this thread first time poster.
Was wondering if you guys might make some comments on some Wesfil filters I got.
Got them from Auto Barn when they had a 25% off promotion.
They advised that it was for the MY14 diesel and I rang Wesfil in Sydney to double check as well.

MY14 Diesel Laredo Filters

Engine Oil Filter: WCO163, $13.49 (Mopar: 68109834AA)

Fuel Filter (2 needed): WCF203, $22.49 x 2 (Mopar: 4726067AA)

Engine Air Filter: WA5135, $22.49 (Mopar: 04861688AA)

Cabin Filter: WACFO154, $16.49 (Mopar: 68079487AA)

Okay went to the wreckers today here are some pics it has a full interior and sunroof no damage to the interior and I also did find the headlight wiring kit and the build date is 2013 but forgot which month . Also was a bit pissed off when I got there was raining very hard and was wet as and cold when trying to get some pics .

Not to mention when I got there because I rang them before hand to let them no I was coming down I asked about prices of certain Items and they wouldn't give them to me told me they will get back to me and ring through the prices "Really", but I did find out some parts like a complete new SRT bonnet in a original box was $1500 compared to Jeep Australia which is $2500 and other various parts and prices. I wanted the bonnet to buy to try and make a custom one like the Russian guy has made "Tyrannos" and I was also after the rear spoiler on the back because I have some ideas there to mod it but again he was going to get back to me on prices

Meh enough talk now some pics and sorry for lack of I was wet and cold lol

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I'm going to buy the bonnet and try to find a good fabricator to make my own style bonnet like the Russian one , that bonnet is sick as in my books

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I found out this week that my MY14 Overland CRD is heading overseas to be reborn. It was purchased for $13k.

To me, allowing our Statutory Write-Offs to be exported for rebirth is pretty poor global ethics. It also reduces the pool of used spare parts available to the local market.

Cheers,
Steve

This was the closest we got to testing our bullbar between Barcaldine and Longreach on our way to Alice Springs. A friend of ours had an emu run between the car and van. Luckily we saw this one coming and slowed down.

Perhaps it shows how dumb our laws are. I think A stat write off is determined by the insurance company not a safety engineer. It occurs when the cost to repair to the owners satisfaction is greater than value of the vehicle less it's wreck value.

Let's say a car has cosmetic damage only or a flooded vehicle, but the cost could easily exceed the value of the payout , so the insurer writes it off. Once it changes hands, this vehicle can no longer be registered, nor insured . A perfectly serviceable motor vehicle wrecked for parts - I reckon that's a complete waste.

Edit - just checked and there are RWO and SWOs, flooding and a structural fold anywhere in the car gives you SWO. It is not a certainty however that all the definitions of SWO apply equally to all cars, especially since cars were routinely repaired with such damage up until recently ( I had a car repaired in the mid nineties with a roof replacement - repair bill eventually far exceeded the value of the car though)
