It could have been that you inadvertendly selected 2nd from the paddle - I did it myself a couple times without realising it. That being the case it will hold the gear until you shift up or cancel through the padels.

Have also noticed the exact same tranny problem with our petrol Laredo. Needs a flash update like the diesel.

Yes, very easy to knock the paddles. Have done the same with the + paddle when doing a u-turn etc. Knocks it down to 1st and redlines. A quick push back on the auto lever resumes D mode.

I have read of a few people that have done this. Iím not sure whatís going on with certain driving styles, but I have never come close to touching the paddles unintentionally. I have being paying attention to see if I get close, nope, never under threat of this happening.
The misses has done it twice.

Holding down on the + paddle also puts it straight back into Auto mode.

2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Definitely wasn't in paddle shift mode when this happened, 'D' was displayed on the display.. Was my first thought that I had inadvertently selected it manually, but no.

Cheers, Simon

Out of topic a bit, check inside your coolant cap, mine is rusting like crazy. None of my other cars had this. Isn't the metal bit supposed to be made out of stainless steel?

Is anyone else using Albion Service Centre? I want to change where I can get a better service, these guys keep on feeding me BS.

How could anything be possibly off topic in this thread?

So, have you checked the radiator cap on your Laredo to see if it is rusting?

The missus thought they were the indicators the first time she went driving in it alone.... she ended up manual shifting all the way to the shops.

I've been using manual to down shift to a turn or stop, then hold the + to go back to D, can be a bit tricky getting on the right hand paddle while turning sometimes.....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I've done the 1000km check up at Mansfield, seem ok. I've heard bad stories about Albion, so avoiding them....

If I get desperate I might try Southport.

There are some talented individuals that have managed to do it a few times.
Impressive feat given the complete and utter random crap we can come up with in this thread.

So, has anyone eaten some strawberries today, if not, what is your favourite dog to fly with?
