Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Bruno, our cars already have the other stuff standard.
In the USA they just need to plug the receiver into the car, where we need the whole rear bar assembly. There are many differences between the USA model and the Export model we get. Many Options on the USA model are standard on ours, several were unavailable to the USA market, such as rear foglights, headlight washers and folding mirrors.

Hi captslobodan,

Those prices look a little low, I thought a CRD LTD was $65k and Overland was $75k drive away? Where are you getting those prices from?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

G'day Bruno,

Not sure about your quote, "Misinformation and poor service -Still for free!! (Am I being too cynical here??)" Not sure where its directed to.

I'm just going by my Contract Price quote for a MY13 Laredo 3.0 TD of $45,455 PLUS Color/Trim as applicable of $409 PLUS Dealer Delivery of $1,813.64 PLUS Compulsory Third Party of $300 Plus Standard Plate Fee $32 PLUS Victorian Registration approx $500.
TOTAL DRIVE AWAY $48,509 Victoria NOVEMBER 2012

Now in April 2013 the Jeep Australia Web Price Drive Away is $53,813 for the same vehicle

In my books thats an increase of $5,304 since November 2012.

Comparing the costs with Jeep USA website the Dealer Delivery costs stand out.
In the US those DDC's are half that of Australia down to $900.

And there seems to be no USA cost additions for colour options.

Seems Jeep Australia think thats a good idea at the time I suppose.

In the mean time Bruno, in my view, its total poor management either by design, intentional or ineptitude of keeping the Australian JGC buying public in the dark and fobbing them off as mushrooms. (ie keeping them in the dark and feeding them shit)

Still waiting and waiting and waiting and...............................................

Bluey of Melbourne

dont think so, only on SRT and a Laredo and none in Vic unless Bluey has some luck today.

You can see the AU ones here on the list;

Maybe I dont understand the system correctly - just confused.

I certainly don't understand the system and I tend to agree with your earlier post about Jeep AU wanting to give the MY13 cars a decent run before discounting them to make way for the 2014 cars. I think Jeep AU are in a tough place with the SRT as it was so late in coming to Australia, though that's not my problem nor yours.

I handed over a deposit for a 2013 SRT8 in August 2012 and I was still without an E number or an ETA when the 2014 SRT was released at the Detroit motor show. At that point I changed my order to a 2014 SRT. After waiting patiently for a car and seeing others arrive and having no idea where I was in the queue, I wasn't going to be so patient *read quiet* with the 2014 car. I didn't like chasing the sales guy as I felt it was Jeep AU giving him nothing to work with, but as he wouldn't give me the contact details of the Jeep AU 'stock allocation' person, he was left with me chasing him. To be fair to him, he came through with the E number though he didn't want to upset Jeep AU by letting this information out - maybe Jeep AU will further restrict the cars allocated to him if he breaks the company line of, "2014 Grand Cherokee? What 2014 Grand Cherokee? How about this nice 2013 we have in our showroom?". I figure Jeep AU want to keep the 2014 cars secret until they've got the highest prices possible for the 2013 stock they still have. Keeping the 2014 model elusive makes the proposition of buying a 2013 car more attractive.

I'm unsure if it's my nagging that has got me an E number or whether it was just that my August 2012 order was already close to front of the queue.

From Milous' posts, there are close to 2000 AU vehicles built but only a handful have E numbers listed on this site. I feel it's likely that some of those cars are for JeepGarage members but that Jeep AU haven't released the E numbers yet.

We're both right. The Limited CRD is $60K + ORC as per the attached below. Including ORC it's $66,447 before any arm-twisting.

As regards the Overland (I presume CRD) the costs is as per the 2nd attachment.

I wish they were lower - say to the same price as the USA or cheaper since we have a stronger dollar... sigh....

(mind you, these prices are for the MY13 model and may change with the MY14 model).

Re my above comment, Jeep Australia provides us the costings for the 2013 models and sadly, nothing else. When I call for more information, they say, in the famous words of Sgt Shultz from Hogan's Heroes (am I showing my age?...) - I know nutting, I know nutting!!

As per various comments from other contributors, Jeep say no E numbers available yet a shipment of JGC are on the way. Misinformation and poor service.

Bluey, I think that price was for the V6 petrol and not the CRD. If it was for the CRD, shame you didn't get it back then because it was a scortcher of a price - well below their RRP. I had ordered the Laredo CRD MY12/13 last year and the priced was 56K including extras e.g. leather, OffRoad Pack and few other little throwins. My order for the MY14 is the same price - so far...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have been "indicated" a price of 2013 +2K for the 2014 SRT which will make it pretty close to 90K on road. I weep when I see posts by US members buying SRT's at 65K but we are donating 9K of GST and almost 6K Luxury Car Tax to the Fed Govt. I guess 10K extra is not that bad for freight and other costs here.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well Robo, my powers of persuasion arent as great as I thought they were. Spoke to Peter at frankston Jeep.

He had the list of all JGC MY14's that they ordered. 14 in March, their allocation.
None had E/VON numbers listed on the printout.

BUT he said they should be getting several through in the next cuople of weeks, Petrol models only.

SO, how come theyre getting them and no E/Von's on the sheet? Beats me.

The main man there, the office girl, will be in on Monday so I'll check with her on it. She seems to have her finger on the pulse.

Pete said maybe July, who knows.

And the SAGA continues.

Bluey
