I'd do it to raise the car... however any upwards tweaking is very likely to preclude using OR2. Now the problem becomes that it's probably not possible to tweak far enough to make OR1 as high as OR2. That would mean maximum height would be lower in the highest usable setting, now being OR1. Also, the car would be a bit high for everyday use and geometry might be a PITA.

LLAMS? Where are you?

Cheers,
Steve
Hmmm. A software fix would be easier, and better I think. I'll continue to encourage Customtronix. It'd be worth another hundred bucks or so if they can do it.
Thanks,
Russell

I have a suspicion that U-Connect has nothing to do with the normal operation of Quadralift.

LLAMS is coming...

Cheers,
Steve

I suspect you may be correct. Pardon my ignorance, but what is LLAMS?
Thanks,

Russell,
Some info for you from Mr Google man,;

http://www.llams.com.au/

LLAMS Electronic Height Controller for Land Rover Discovery 3, 4 and Range Rover Sport

The Llams electronic height controller allows selection of off-road and high-speed heights at any speed on Land Rover Discovery 3 and Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport vehicles fitted with air suspension. Sand, tracks and high-crown outback roads can now be driven at either full off-road height or a lesser 30mm raised height without the normal 50 kph speed restriction then return to on-road height when conditions are suitable. Raised by 30mm provides improved ride on rough tracks due to more bump-stop clearance and high speed lowered height (-20mm) provides improved on-road handling.
Height options are -20mm, normal, +30mm and +50mm when used in normal height mode. +50mm in Off-Road mode provides approximately super-extended mode height, which has height usual Off-Road mode 50 kph speed restriction. -20mm can be used in Access mode to improve access for small children and mobility impaired people.
The controller is supplied as a plug-in kit and contains:
controller module,
rotary switch c/w green/orange/red LED and long lead,
wiring harness with plugs to connect to the vehicles harnesses,
loop-back plug for use if the module is temporarily removed,
installation instruction sheet. Setup instructions are also inside the module. Llams Pty Ltd recommends installation by a competent workshop or person.
RRP $594 excluding fitting and is available from Davis Performance Landys (02 96791978).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I actually just emailed Graeme with Llams earlier this evening asking for an update.
I want it for staying in OR1 and OR2 at higher speeds but it should be promising for those wanting to stay in Aero at lower speeds also.

I'll post any updates he sends me but here is what he last updated me with back in August:

"The delay is due to not having ready access to a vehicle to do my own fine tuning of preset adjustments, instead having to rely on others to find the time. Early testing didn't go as expected but eventually I discovered that some incorrect value resistors had been fitted that distorted the signals, but not without having caused several weeks delay. At this time I have GC presets that I think should give appropriate height changes but would prefer to properly test them before distributing any kits. They were about to be re-tested after an inconsistent result in a series of tests when something failed in the test module (possibly a broken wire solder joint due to having used excessively thick wires) so the module is being returned. I prefer to supply the modules already calibrated for simpler fitting and to avoid poor calibration results if the vehicle is not allowed to properly reach OR2 during the calibration process. It also allows any induced lean to be corrected should that need doing. I'm going to try to borrow or hire a vehicle for a couple of hours to get it finished but I'm not very hopeful of finding one locally.

A kit is now in the hands of a Dodge Ram owner in Canada as the Rams use the same air suspension system but with different calibrations. The module will shortly be calibrated on that vehicle to see how accurately it works without any adjustments and a set of calibrated ICs returned to me as a basis for inclusion as preset calibrations for these vehicles. The module caters for preset calibrations for up to 8 vehicles as well as a set of learnt calibrations, all selectable via a bank of pcb-mounted switches.

Regards,
Graeme"

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Received an update from Graeme this morning:

"There hasn't been much progress recently, indeed very quiet for several weeks waiting for feedback on the latest height change values. There had been a delay when a module failed to work at all that was resolved with new ICs, which is a little alarming as the module showed no faults beforehand nor when trying to discover the cause which means that I cannot prove that a module works in a vehicle even though it does on the bench. It was the only occurrence so I'll just have to be prompt in replacing one if it doesn't work."

"I understand that there are some circumstances where the GC hasn't reacted to a Llams height change but don't know the exact conditions or constraints, although pressing the raise then lower or lower then raise switches usually gets it moving. Ideally I would have determined all the constraints but not having access to a GC myself, this has not been possible.

Whilst I had wanted to provide modules pre-calibrated, I think its time to get a few kits out that may need to be calibrated on the vehicles if the programmed adjustments aren't acceptable. The 2 hard-wired modules were calibrated on the vehicles and the Dodge Ram plug-in one too and they all work as intended. The calibration procedure is quite simple so hopefully shouldn't be an impediment to most people."

Sounds very promising to me and actually a kit may be on its way to me within a week so I can assist with debugging and confirming calibration procedures prior to the release of the initial 20-30 retail units.

Once in full production release, the kit will be plug-n-play and should retail for a little more than his Land Rover kits which are in the $550.00 range (slightly varies between AUD and USD exchange rates plus taxes shipping or import fees)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have been experiencing thumping knocking noise that appears to originate from the front end, this is happening when driving over bumps and corrugations on roads. Is anyone else experiencing this with QL suspension?

Its booked into the service center tomorrow so they can tell me what is causing it, hopefully. The other day I had to make an emergency hard braking and I heard a clunking sound when the GC came to a complete stop. Since then, i tried it a few times to do hard braking and I hear the clunk every time the vehicle comes to a stop. I had a look at all the control arm fasteners and went over all of them with a socket and they all are tight. Any ideas?

Thanks.
