I brake with my right foot as per normal. This problem doesn't reset with an ignition cycle and on both occasions is came up after the "Exhaust Filter almost full" alarm.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Time out for our QLD Jeepers.

Bluey goes to an outdoor show and wins a tinnie.
He brought it home and his wife looks at him and says,

"What you gonna do with that. There’s no water deep enough to
float a boat within 160 kms of here."

He says, "I won it and I'm gonna keep it."...
His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees
the wife and asks where his brother is.

She says, "He's out there in his tinnie",
pointing to the paddock behind the house.

The brother heads out behind the house and sees his
brother in the middle of a paddock sitting in the
tinnie with a fishing rod in his hand ..

He yells out to him, "What are you doing?"

His brother replies, "I'm fishing. What the hell does it look like I'm a doing?"

His brother yells, "It's people like you that give people from Queensland a bad name, making everybody think we're stupid.
If I could swim, I'd come out there and kick your arse!"

Yeah that is a dpf issue, and if it still occurring after a force regen then there is an issue with the dpf or one of the sensors. It puts it into limp mode with the electronic throttle message to say it isn't going to let you rev, this is to protect the motor from damage given it thinks there is no exhaust flow.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

For those of you who may be interested, I recently purchased this quality LED Kit from Precision in the USA.
The kit is complete with all the tools necessary to make it easy to replace all of your interior lights in your GC with quality LED bulbs.
There is a very good tutorial on UTube to show you how to complete the installation.

I'd steer well clear of the garbage out of Korea. Take a look at a 5yr old Jeep, and compare it to a 5yr old Kia or Hyundai, and you will see the Jeep is better built and finished.

Ordered a GC a few weeks back, sitting at the Port of Brisbane at the moment, cant wait!

Take a Prado out and then try and go straight to a GC, thats what sold the missus on the Jeep, Prado was like driving a farm truck...

Which it is.

Yes it is a good kit, make sure you got what you ordered and test all the LED's before pulling trim apart. I had one dead cargo LED and was missing footwell bulbs. To top it off I paid for the premium LED's but they sent sent out standards

I sent them a support request with pictures and they expressed (from USA) a full replacement kit with the correct LED's. Great service from them to fix the problem.

Chris

Was looking at this the other day, what is the difference between the LED Interior Package on special at the moment for $44.99 and the Premium LED Interior Pack on special for $80.99?

Both state that the pack includes 2 x Map, 2 x Dome, 2 x Footwell and 2 x Trunk

Is the only difference that the that the Premium uses the 5730 LED Chip compared to the older 5050 LED Chip?

Wouldnt the 5730 at 3 times the ligt output be too bright?

Cheers

Yes, well I suggested that they replace the dpf, I bought it from that dealership and they are finally doing the right thing by me. Fortunately we're off to Bali for a couple of weeks, so they have time to fix the problem.

It's also cheap secure parking. If they can just fix this problem, I'll be happy. Hopefully that's the only issue - apart from the voice command and navigation, which will hopefully improve with software updates.

The navigation voice is woeful. It mispronounces everything. Gladstone comes out as Gallstone. I thought the Garmin GPS I had before was the worst possible, but this one is even worse. It doesn't recognise Australian voices too well either. Maybe I should try speaking with an American accent.

Jim, there is a TSB out for the pronunciation issue on Aust vehicles. Maybe get your dealership to apply that whilst it is in for the DPF issue.

Here it is:

Hope things get sorted for you whilst you are in Bali.

er I'll pass on that. By the way, we went for Cherry Red too. The dealer asked for a range of colours. The wife said - Cherry Red, and we'll wait for it if necessary.

Yes they stated what is in the kit but it wasn't when it arrived. All sorted now as the support was superb.

The 5730 is very bright but I replaced them with the coloured LED's, now have an awesome red glow. If you only want white light then the standard kit will do.
