OSF......replacement shown on invoice. Warranty work. I checked the chrome which didn't appear to be new. God knows what it's but it's at no cost.

Its booked into the service center tomorrow so they can tell me what is causing it, hopefully. The other day I had to make an emergency hard braking and I heard a clunking sound when the GC came to a complete stop. Since then, i tried it a few times to do hard braking and I hear the clunk every time the vehicle comes to a stop. I had a look at all the control arm fasteners and went over all of them with a socket and they all are tight. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Yes mate. I have a similar problem which has been ongoing for several months. When I first took it back to the dealer I suggested the LHF shock is faulty. The sound was like the shock topping out in OR2, but not as loud, and at all height settings.

Well - after three trips to the dealer for "troubleshooting/investigation", the latest being today - they have determined that the LHF shock strut is indeed faulty. No shit, Sherlock! So now it's wait for another month for a strut to arrive from the states. Actually, it'll be a full assembly including airbag, as the unit is not serviceable.
One positive is I now have a new reversing camera fitted. We'll see how that works out...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I meant to add that in previous visits some shock mounts were replaced. The noise reduced as a result, but not completely. The noise occurs under shock extension, not compression.
Hope this helps.

so my dealer just called regarding my GC Limited that i ordered, which i should be collecting next week (cant wait ..

Apparantly my car is going to be a MY15 build, and he mentioned that it has digital radio. I havent been able to find any info on this. Is this true? If so, does anyone have any reviews of the DAB+ radio?

Let us know when you receive your MY15. Would love to know what the differences (if any) are between the MY15 and MY14.

Cheers,

Jason

I also heard this the other day from our dealership. They have yet to see it though. I think they are getting the info from a CJD Australia dealership sales blurb.

Let us know how you go.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

DAB+ is awesome from my experience. The wife's car has DAB+ and its the only thing I wish the GC had.

Difference between FM and DAB+ is like going from AM to FM, its crystal clear and much better quality. The only downside to DAB+ is that you either have it or you don't so its a bit like digital TV signal, its either there or it cuts out completely. Generally in undercover car parks DAB+ cuts out, but this may not be the case with the Jeep.

The other benefit is that a few AM stations also broadcast on DAB+ so if you are like me and like listening to the football and fellow ethnics calling the footy talk-back, its great

Hope things get sorted for you whilst you are in Bali.
Thanks for that Service Bulletin. As an update, we got back from Bali and the same problem happened again. (3rd time). Now definitely not happy.

The second time, they just did two forced regens and said that if it happened again, they would replace the DPF. It has happened within a week of getting it back each time.

Could it be a problem with the fuel? I'm still on the same tank, which I got from Woolworths Caltex. I'm inclined to go with BP Ultimate from now on, but I've never had the problem with that fuel source with my previous car.

The bitrate of DAB and the better DAB+ that we use is appalling. It is worse than standard iTunes downloads, and they're crap. While I get the clear thing, I don't get the better quality thing.

SNUKE, not sure what the bitrates are but I can tell you that compared to my Grand Cherokee and the FG Falcon I had before it, DAB+ radio in the Ford Kuga sounds 100x better.

12 months and 26000km, every tank with Caltex Vortex Diesel and not one issue with mine.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

DAB radio is awesome........ In the city!
Useless in the country

Are any of the DAB radios dual function, ie: analogue as well? That would be ideal.
It's a damn shame that few, if any, country areas have gone to digital radio, as it's a quantum leap improvement.
