Could it be a problem with the fuel? I'm still on the same tank, which I got from Woolworths Caltex. I'm inclined to go with BP Ultimate from now on, but I've never had the problem with that fuel source with my previous car.
I virtually always use the Caltex/Woolies fuel.
Have not had a DPF issue since day one, 4500klms to date, and not seen an "active" regen or any message. (Our JGC does a lot of towing and very little city stop/start travel, which would help.)
I do occasionally see passive regen happening, only noticeable if watching instantaneous fuel consumption, which goes up, as does the EGT if I have my OBDII app running.

You see, virtually all my driving is 60km/hr max stop start in a small town. It takes me 5 minutes to get to work. My highway driving is on the weekend, but I haven't had a chance to do that yet since I bought the car at the end of September. I'm beginning to wonder if I bought the right car for the job. Maybe I would have been better with a petrol model.

What kind of car tells you to drive at highway speeds or it will go into limp mode? Just as you're arriving at the doctors? When you're getting home with some frozen food? I don't buy that you have to adjust your life to suit the car.

I found this article interesting:

DPF Solution Is Becoming DPF Problems? - Chip Tuning Australia

There is also a link at the end to a Subaru page explaining their regen process.
When I had my Jeep serviced at a Repco agent in Kununurra, they said they do a forced regen as part of every routine service on cars with a DPF. Unfortunately his computer could not activate the Jeeps system, but I haven't had the problem anyway.
I really like the diesel in my Overland, and would definitely buy one again. But I live in the country, and do a fair bit of towing. I would not buy a diesel sedan though - the fuel economy is not sufficiently better on light vehicles than modern petrol engines; the fuel nozzles are always oily, and there is usually only one or two at a service station ( and one or more of them have high flow nozzles which won't fit!).
Well, that's my opinion anyway😃.
Thanks,
Russell

Most of my driving is 2 mins to the shops, or to pick the kids up, I do a lot of stop start driving, but once a fortnight or so I try to go for a long drive, just because I enjoy driving it.

If you've had 3 regen failures then your DPF is cactus, it happens, they will replace it and generally that is that. From the few reports of owners who have had their dpf replaced there is no more problem.

The car asking you to keep driving at highway speeds isn't a common thing, and in most cases you can stop, unload your groceries, then when you are ready take it for a nice long drive to allow the regen to go. But normally the regen *should* occur well before getting to an almost clogged state where this message appears. If you take it for a long drive once a fortnight or so, then the regen should be doing its thing then.

There were problems where this wasn't happening, even at highway speeds, but it seems this software update has fixed that.

I can vouch for that. Mine had DPF issues from new - regardless of city or country driving - which was not fixed through TSBs, software reflashes/updates etc. After 6 months of this, the dealer finally replaced the DPF unit and I haven't had a problem since.

That's good to hear, I think there were 2 issues going on, some faulty DPFs are getting through to production, and the software was playing up on the MY14s.

All of the new Fords with DAB+ radios also have regular AM and FM as well. You would hope that Jeep will be the same to cater for areas that do not have DAB coverage.

I'm pretty sure that the Jeep will have all three bands. The radio in mine was recently replaced as it used to intermitently play up. The new unit is apparently the one that will be fitted on the MY15 series and has DAB on it (though it doesn't work). The LH screen tab has MW, FM and DAB choices.

We've got a MY15 GC. Works fine in the Brisbane area. Have not gone further afield yet! It has FM/AM.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The USA has DAB, and XM Sirus (Sat radio). While our models can sometimes see the DAB button, there is no hardware to run it. We also use DAB+ in AU, so it would not work even if the hardware was there.
I would not expect to see DAB+ in our cars until the new model in 2016.

And any chance you could post a link to the Utube video please? I can't find it after a very quick look.
