Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hey thanks Mark. I found that SBR price today after getting the dealer to give me the part #'s. Seems to be a good price. Found the set for $540 in the US, there was just the slight issue of $1000 shipping put me off that deal....

Cheers, Simon

Hehehehe, yes been down that road of trying to find someone with reasonable shipping rates from the US to here

As I said, if you choose to fit them yourself and would like a hand just give me a shout

Fitting of the Mopar plates r simple most of them u unbolt the carpet bolt on the plate. For the transfer 2 plates u take off two other brackets. Very simple indeed.

Wonder if they have actually fitted any and are familiar with the canbus system on the Jeeps?

So do you keep the recovery point with the Mopar bar?

I got to admit I haven't actually seen any fitted so dont know if they differ in looks once fitted?
Would have thought that the majority would be up behind the bumper?
Here's the Mopar (Best) bar with the recovery hook, its pretty neat I think.

Cheers Salmo, I think it looks pretty neat too
Keeping the recovery point and being able to add the long rang tank if needed makes it a pretty easy decision for me

G'day Salmo,

The Mopar (Best Bars) looks better than I thought, the fact the rear recovery hook stays is a definite bonus!

May I ask how much you paid and where you got it done? I'm in Perth as well.

Thanks

Jason

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I saw the Moper tow bar fitted to a new Blackhawk sitting in the showroom when I took mine in for the 1000km checkup. I thought it looked very neat and there was minimal trimming that needed to be done to the lower section of the bumper.

Osborne Park Jeep in Perth charge approx $1250 fitted from memory, which is pretty expensive IMO considering the genuine bar can be bought online for about $600 with delivery.

The only disappointing thing with the genuine Mopar bar is that it does not come with a plug-in loom and requires splicing of wires etc.
