Darkest legal will really dress it up. Did the same to mine and the dark windows set the white off a treat. Welcome to the family!

Did you get the darkest legal on top of the privacy rear windows so they're extra dark?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have the Laredo, so it had minimal tint. I have the 5% VLT on the rear window and back seat passenger widows. So very dark. The front seat windows are tinted to 35% VLT which is darkest legal for those. Got all these done privately and not through the dealer.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have just done a bit over 26,000kms, all trouble free. My tyres (Michelins) look about 1/2 worn and I noticed the other day the front left was wearing a bit on the outside edge and I was pretty sure it seemed to be pulling a bit to the left. But I wasn't sure if it was the road camber and an over active imagination.
I did the rotation myself and took it in for a wheel alignment today.....what a difference. I thought it felt OK before, but after, it now feels like the car is floating and the steering is lighter and no having to hold it to the right.
I gave them the details of the TSB and he had to do a bit of extra research about how to do the adjustments and a couple of test drives to get it right, he took about 1.5 hours to get it done.
The guy doing the wheel alignment gave me a blow by blow commentary, he loved the car.
Money well spent.........

My Uconnect died 3 weeks ago, tried the solution above with no result, whole unit being replaced this Thursday after being sent from US of A, was told by dealer the cost is 5k for the complete unit, lucky under warranty.

Yeah five grand... in Australia.

I would very much doubt that's the price in the USA! How long are they making you wait?

Cheers,
Steve

Originally the dealer said 10 working days, as I was off to QLD just after the 10 WD's I started hassling them only to be told 10 days depends on shipping. When fitted this Thursday it ill be 1 month to the day, I could put up with no radio/phone etc. but when the unit dies it affects the aircon which got the other half a bit hot under the collar, the reversing camera also plays up and only works intermittently.
I hit the dealer up for a replacement car while waiting for the unit and they were happy to do this until they found out I was going to QLD then it was a flat no way.

I have a chuckle when the service advisor say's "the part costs $x,000" with warranty claims
We all know the only loss the dealer makes is the shortfall on labour with the CJD rebate. You can bet your bottom dollar that CJD will have the faulty parts warranted by its manufacturer

That's the way it works in the industry. (Ex multi-franchise parts mangler/manager - two of the best brands, and 2 of the worst)

Yes, I could have shot the over half when that slipped out.
Most galling part is when the problem surfaced I took the car to the local dealer who looked at it and was all good to fix until they realized the reversing camera was also affected, then they started to blame the installation of the tow pack and electric brake controller for the caravan which was done at the dealer in Sydney where I bought the car so then it was see you later, but we would love to service your car when it is all sorted!!!!!!! so now another 250km round trip to get it fixed finally.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

When our uconnect unit failed, the dealer just grabbed one out of a car he had on the lot and swapped it back when the new unit came in. Reason for the swap back and forth is the the lot vehicle didn't have nav, but we weren't inconvenienced too much. Maybe they were good about it as the unit failed while they had the car, installing an update.
