Mine behaves the same as above. I don't have a CD in the CD player and it will default to CD on the odd occasion. Only ever listen to radio or USB.

There is a fix for this. Mine was doing the same & the dealer did the upgrade & all good.

240km round Trip to Sydney last Thursday and Uconnect working perfectly, spent the trip home listening to text messages that had been building up for the month it didn't work (WTF, they weren't on my phone until it connected with the new bits in the car) a jeep tech head at dealer told me the Uconnect system hadn't failed it was only the radio, the radio is the brain for the whole system and somehow even affects the aircon when it plays up, to say I am P Off with the local dealer in Wollonong (starts with T) is an understatement, this was a warranty issue that could have been sorted by them but I had to go out of my way to sort a jeep thing.

Just to clarify SJ&L, the cherokee understands a street address input? ( as opposed to "go home", "show map" etc). I ask because the latest excuse my dealer gave me for it not working on the JGC is that it is illegal.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

That bullsht!t again...

I mean really... if the dealers want us to go along with this they should supply a crack pipe in the centre console. Our BMW allows manual address entry on the move. No passenger. No hack. Out of the box...

The Cheap system simply has a defect that they do not intend to fix.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks,

Correct Russell. It understands street address via VR.

- 'Navigate to 33 Russell Street, The Oaks, NSW' (I had to give it NSW for this to work)

- 'Navigate to 3 Henley Street, Lane Cove, NSW' (Did not work - came up with Henry Street) so tried again -

- 'Navigate to 3 Henley Street, Lane Cove West NSW'. Worked - it needs specifics and Lane Cove West for that address is the accurate suburb.

It works on the KL but, I believe - well I think, that the head unit in the KL may be different to the GC.

I don't exactly know but I think that because we do not get the DAB+ option at all on the KL (just FM and MW) and owners of the MY15 GCs are reporting that they do have that DAB+ functionality that it could be due to head unit differences.

Snuke has said that the head unit in the MY14 GC is different to the MY15 GC which is why MY15 GC owners get DAB+ and MY14 GC owners don't. So applying that logic, because I do not have DAB+ on the KL, tells me that the head unit is different again.

I dunno. All I can tell you is that as far as our MY15 KL is concerned, Nav via VR works - 70% of the time during my testing. My accent may confuse it somewhat at times though.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just adding also Russell that the Uconnect version on our MY15 KL is V14.29.9

One of the owners of a MY14 KL asked his dealer whether this was applicable for his vehicle and could they update it and the answer was no.

There is a definite difference between Uconnect versions for MY14 and MY15 vehicles be they GCs or KLs.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

hello all, any ideas on the best place to buy Mopar accessories? [MY2015 Jeep GC]

I'd like the mopar rock rails, tow bar/harness and the underbody protection.

I don't mind waiting if it's going to save $$.

Try Ebay

Many USA dealers and retailers ship to Australia. I bought Mopar side steps, mud flaps at some half the cost (delivered) compared to over here - though tow bars might be a stretch as the freight cost would be high. More recently, I had to replace the plastic surround on the front guard. Local price was over $400. I bought the genuine part on Ebay from a USA dealer (using my VIN) for $150 delivered.
