Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It seems as we all get impatient and with May about to tick over with the possibility of some news from Aussie HQ, I'm onto my dealership by the end of the week for an update. They did say May when info would be released and you guys are getting me excited. It will look like the new CEO becomes everyone's best friend as she strides into her office in a new JGC CRD Overland.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All. Before Jeep announces the release of the MY14 Jeep in Australia, they need to have had their advertising in order e.g, print media, television ads etc. In regards to the TV ads, these would've been filmed well before the Australian release date. In Australia, cumminsross is the advertising company responsible for Jeep's ads. Recently a new ad was directed in Sydney (see link: Bobby Farrelly directs new Jeep ad | cumminsross.com). I doubt very much they would use the MY13 for the ad.

Does anyone have any 'friends' or connections with cumminsross as to the release date of the ad? This would give us all a clearer indication as to when Jeep Aus would be releasing the MY14 down under.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yesterday I saw a brand new JGC yesterday in bright white but with the famous front grill was in black like the Trailhawk. The bonnet was still in bright white. Which model could that be? Could it be, could it be the MY14???

MY14 must be imminent. Murphy's Law tells me this.

For the first time in 4-5 years, our current GC spat the dummy yesterday. Radiator issue (the lower hose split - steam and coolant spewing everywhere - just lovely)

Murphy's Law says when about to take delivery of new vehicle, old vehicle gets wind of this, gets pissed off and hits you in the wallet.

They also need to realise that a $50,000+ vehicle is not the same as an iPhone. Keeping information close to your chest is one thing, but when there has been an international launch of the model there is a public expectation on availability.

I'd quite happily put down $50 or $100 as a pre-order deposit on a fancy new phone, but dropping $3K-$5K on a vehicle on the vague promise that it'll be here soon and the price should be about the same as the previous ones isn't for me.

Good luck to all you guys waiting desperately for your vehicles, I hope they get here eventually and you don't get screwed around too much. I couldn't do it.

Sign of the times,

Large car sales continued to slide, with Ford Falcon losing almost 35 per cent of sales for the month compared with February to peg only 831 units. That means it is now outsold by the likes of JeepGrand Cherokee off-roader....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi guys thank you for the updates (such as they are) on the progress of the my14 for the aussie market.
We have never owned a 4x4 let alone anything other than a holden, but after we decided that a 4x4 was what we needed (wanted) for our future retirement plans we researched researched researched, trawled through yard after yard and many hours on the computer and came to the conclusion that the JGC laredo was for us (well an overland if l could afford it . On learning of the new m14 version we have decided to wait, but l can't for the life of me work out how Jeep can run a business with any hint of success treating potential customers like children begging for sweets. Yes l am prepared to wait just as many of you good people are but we all know it's coming so how about giving us the opportunity of knowing what we are getting instead of keeping us in the dark.
I looked at many other vehicles in my search for a 4x4 and yes Jeep in my book is the best on the market this shouldn't mean that Jeep behave as if it's all sewn up many customers may feel that near enough is good enough and vote with their feet.
As this is my first ever post l apologise if l have spoken out of place ,just a little frustrated like so many others on the garage :/

Couldnt be closer to the truth. Our Pajero decided it needed a new battery the day we had to return it to the leasing company. A major pain in the a**.
