Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I just experienced my first limp mode driving home from work at midnight sunday night. Half way home and the MIL light comes on, the exhaust 100% full message pops up and the ETC symbol starts flashing saying to service my ETC immediately.

Restricted me to 4th gear only, max of 3000rpm which was close to 80kph. Dropped it into the dealer monday morning, they were all over it as it obviously happens a fair bit as we know. Manual regen done and software update applied. Be interesting to see if it happens again - i hope not.

Was thinking id managed to avoid this issue as we have one of the early ones delivered to aus - took delivery in July '13, build was april '13 i think. Approx 22000km on the clock. Guess it can strike anytime!

2015 Dodge Challenger

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

2015 HellCat

It is a version of the 2015 Dodge Challenger with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI engine rated at 707 hp (527 kW) and 650 lbft (881 Nm) of torque. Chrysler claims that this makes the Challenger SRT Hellcat "the most powerful muscle car ever,"[39] with a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h). The inner driving light on the left front has been removed to allow air to get into the engine resulting in more torque, and the wheel wells are different from the standard SRT to accommodate the 20-inch aluminum wheels. The SRT Hellcat will come equipped with two separate key fobs; use of the "black" fob will limit engine output to 500 horsepower, while the "red" fob will enable the full output capability.[40] The Hellcat has a quarter mile time of 10.8 seconds which is faster than the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Ford Mustang GT 500. However, this was accomplished with drag racing tires, on stock tires the Hellcat was able to achieve 11.2 seconds on the quarter mile.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just send it straight to The Office of Road Safety and cut out the middle man.

With our speed limits, maybe you should be able to order one without a gearbox...

Cheers,
Steve

Not scheduled for AUS market sadly. Unless you get that mob in QLD to do the conversion of an import, then it will cost ya $130K

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Mine too went into limp mode the other day. Jeep assist were on the ball and towed truck back to dealership and paid for taxi to work.
Took a whole day before I got it back as they said they were behind on work. Next day I picked it up and they said there's no charge for first limp mode but any after that then there's a cost to me.

What I wasn't aware off, is that if you can't get it to max speeds on highway for x period of time then advice is to pull over, stick it in neutral and use the paddles to to knock into a gear that keeps it in high revs for x period of time which will do a manual regen.

Looking at the worksheet once I got home (too busy) I noticed it says an oil change due to the forced regen, the torch was finally replaced (never worked since bought it) and a camera installed?
Not sure what camera they've fixed as the rear assist was fitted way back but the rear door internal panel was loose so they've looked at something.
Also noticed auto high beams not coming on anymore too even though it's all selected in EVIC so looks like another flyby to the dealership.

The dealer is dumb and wrong see the DPF thread - Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?
