Yoda, Why not use that E number and track the vehicle, as well as get that valuable build sheet.

On learning of the new m14 version we have decided to wait, but l can't for the life of me work out how Jeep can run a business with any hint of success treating potential customers like children begging for sweets. Yes l am prepared to wait just as many of you good people are but we all know it's coming so how about giving us the opportunity of knowing what we are getting instead of keeping us in the dark.
I looked at many other vehicles in my search for a 4x4 and yes Jeep in my book is the best on the market this shouldn't mean that Jeep behave as if it's all sewn up many customers may feel that near enough is good enough and vote with their feet.
As this is my first ever post l apologise if l have spoken out of place ,just a little frustrated like so many others on the garage :/
Welcome to the forum (queue), you like most are just saying it as it is. straight from the heart.

Stuff what the others have said. Your prediction sounds the most credible! (Who knows, you're probably right )

I think Mr Murphy has, historically speaking, a whole lot more cred than the current Aust Jeep dealership lot.

I'm going to be really, really nice around it (current GC) now. I might even wash it. Don't want anything else to go wrong before I take delivery of my new Overland (whispering now in case it hears )

I've been hanging off ringing the dealership for an update re: our Overland order. Is it worth it? Will he give me an e-number? I doubt it. Back to waiting ...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It will be worth the wait I'm sure fourbfarmer.

For us, the wait is fine (at the moment).

Try getting new garaging for the new vehicle. That's a whole 'nother story (as the book says) and more painful that the Jeep saga.

Although we have a double garage and a huge American barn on the property, both lack space due to the garage being our onsite office and the barn being taken up with my husbands other toys.

Cue husband 2 months ago saying, we need a new enclosed space for the new GC (when it arrives). Traditionally, our vehicles have sat out in the weather. Not good enough for the new one.

Two months down the track (numerous visits from tradies with promise of quotes...that never arrive) and we finally have an outfit that will (we think - we hope) erect our new garaging for the new GC ... but it will be 6 weeks until supposed completion. OK...

It's not just car dealerships that don't deliver. It's tradespeople as well.

So what's going to come first - the vehicle or the garaging? Taking bets.

In Australia, cumminsross is the advertising company responsible for Jeep's ads. Recently a new ad was directed in Sydney (see link: Bobby Farrelly directs new Jeep ad | cumminsross.com). I doubt very much they would use the MY13 for the ad.

Does anyone have any 'friends' or connections with cumminsross as to the release date of the ad? This would give us all a clearer indication as to when Jeep Aus would be releasing the MY14 down under.
Hi,

I just saw this on the bayside jeep website and it's for the new Compass

All,

I'm pulling the pin on my order for a couple of reasons... Firstly the reliability reports for Jeep are shocking and an ex dealership managers has told me that it is the most unreliable brand he has ever sold.. And secondly, in context Chrysler Aust can't organise a beer in a pub. The picture this all paints makes me very worried about a $90k investment that looks to be worth $50k in 12 mths.

I'm sticking with Toyota. It's more expensive, but I've NEVER been disappointed. When onto a good thing, stick with it.

Having said that, the wk2 is one good looking machine and I look forward to seeing them on and off the road.

Early order SRT for anyone?

Fair enough, but what are you buying at Toyota thats even comparible to an SRT? Apples for apples?..... if you had said an ML63 or X5M I could understand, but to be ordering an SRT and then going to a toyota?.....

Patch,

Why do you say it will be worth only 50K in 12 months? Without starting a war here, I am interested in your basis. A quick look on Carsales shows a couple of 3 to 5 year old SRT,s asking around $40K to $50 K. I think a car still worth over 50% of new after 4 years is doing ok. I know my current midrange Holden is only 40% of new after 4 years.

Resale value is a very important factor, particularly when spending 90K. What do others think? How much will a SRT be worth in 4 years ??

And what is the alternative to a SRT ? Mercedes ML350 is 30K more and nowhere near the power. Maybe a R8 Holden wagon but the VF is not yet on sale and is as much an unknown as the JGC. Alternatives?

The SRT is the performance version with very limited off road credential. It's direct competitors would be the ML63 and X5M. Both of witch are roughly 60k more. The SRT is a bargain, and worth every bit of its 90k and wait, if thats what your in the market for. I would get 2, (his and hers) if only it were a little more capable off road. Ive even contemplated changing my order (a my14 Overland) for one, but I need it to be capable on Fraser Island. Its a shame its tuned more for the race track than the bush track.
