Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

This afternoon went into settings screen on the GPS and unticked "Show Safety Cameras on Map". This removed all of the pedestrian crossing icons and the school zone icon from map. Now I have no more Beep Beep.
I have never had this happen before. The Jeep did have a Unconnect update at the last service and Thursday was the first time I have used the GPS since the service.

Thanks for everyone input.

Warren

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Warren do you know what version you're running?

Reason is, I have a recollection that there's a version of Uconnect following on from the one you have which allows display of these items, but without the "beeping". If you had a spare few minutes, it'd be great to close the loop. If not, we'll get it next time.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

My Wife's sister and hubby want to buy a new SUV to tow a Caravan, the GC diesel is too expensive to them, so we spent the next couple of days test driving the Holden Colorado 7 SUV and the Isuzu MU-X. Both auto diesels and can tow 3000kg.
It was interesting to compare them to my GC Limited. In my humble opinion the jeep wins hands down, power on both vehicles was noticeably down and I think the fit and finish on the Jeep is better too. Ride comfort was slightly rougher but still acceptable. As to price both are in the 48 k range and this is with similar features to the Jeep Limited, leather, GPS, Reversing Camera etc.
Overall not bad vehicles but the Jeep is definitely worth the extra cost.
I did enjoy driving our GC into the dealers yards and have them enquiring as to how we liked our Jeep, told em great 10 out of 10.

Steve,
The Unconnect version is 14.25.5 which I think is the latest one.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

OK my bad... I'm using Customtronix firmware so am getting a bit out of the loop with where things are at regarding version changelogs and niggles.

So perhaps the beep on approaching safety related POI has not been resolved, and the only solution is turning them off totally? Has anyone with the more current Uconnect version managed to retain the display of safety POI without the beep?

Cheers,
Steve

Steve, what version Customtronix is yours. I have 14.25.5018, but I haven't loaded it yet, I want to install the hardware(Silver) first.

Yes thats what they put in my jeep after forced burn. Everything is going well so far. They even put it on a truck and deliver it back home. 175kms without fighting about it.

MM,

These are the top level contacts that got me my new improved camera. Try them ALL with a firm email. Nicole is Customer Service at the bottom of the list.
Good luck with that.
