5 of the 42 Overland CRD built for Sydney so far are Red.

Thank you Milous, that's the car. How do I use the E number to track delivery and what the detailed build was?

You would need to upgrade your membership to Level III (for tracking)... or to Level IV or Lifetime (for tracking + build sheet). Build sheet would be immediately available.

Toyota reliability reports are just as shocking, don't they currently hold the No. 1 spot for most vehicles recalled? Have you visited Toyota boards recently? Their "Problems" sections are quite busy.

Toyota reliability has been slipping for many years. Not to mention their cheap interiors and un-intuitive controls/layout.

Wow, you'd give up a Jeep SRT (fun factor = off the charts) for a ...LOL...Toyota?? (fun factor doesn't even register a blip).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just rang the dealership to try and get the elusive e-number. He said that the only e-numbers showing on their system at the moment are all petrol models. They would be the ones currently on the ship (??) - dunno.

He is checking daily and will advise me as soon as he finds out something. He's alright - is finding the 'Cloak and Dagger' attitude from Jeep AU very frustrating.

I'm sticking with Toyota. It's more expensive, but I've NEVER been disappointed. When onto a good thing, stick with it.

Having said that, the wk2 is one good looking machine and I look forward to seeing them on and off the road.

Early order SRT for anyone?

Patch,

What you are saying does not appear to make sense.
1. I suspect the ex dealer friend was selling the older models, as there is no evidence that the current Grand Cherokee is unreliable.
2. You are changing from a SRT to a Toyota? From what I know there is no comparable Toyota to a SRT. If you said an Overland or Limited, I would agree. However, the SRT is a sports vehicle, whereas the comparable Toyota (I am assuming you mean a Land Cruiser) is a real offroader, not like the SRT. The SRT is a on road, capable of doing dirt, and very powerful and fast, whereas the Cruiser is a well proven luxury workhorse, capable of going anywhere, with the right accessories.

In any event, it is certainly your decision, and I know you would be better looked after by a Toyota dealership than a Jeep one.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just spoke to the Sales Manager at my dealer in Melbourne, he quotes from Chrysler Aus that no Overland Diesel have been manufactured yet and will not be built for some months. He is supposed to call them again and discuss after I notified him that 121 are on the way to Aus right now. This is driving me crazy as I am trying to plan my winter migration to warmer parts of Australia up north.

Seaweed, have you discovered paradise yet?
Drive in to the Town of 1770 or Agnes Water. Google either of those location names to be blown away. Your Jeep will love the drive in.
