The back bumper needs some work done on it. Don't think it needs replacing, just a bit of a paint job. (Well I hope it doesn't need replacing - I haven't seen it yet).

Don't ask... entirely self-inflicted BUT it wasn't me.

to my husband.
Touch up guys.
Edit: and they come to you.

Agree there are some very professional 'on the road' dint and paint repairers out there, saves the hassle of taking it to a panel beater.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks IBAJ and BK. The left rear light has gone as well. I guess that means we have to deal with Jeep parts. Oh Joy.

He said the sensors didn't go off and he couldn't see anything in the camera. It was a barrier made of curved clear perspex-y type of material and interestingly enough, the company whose very tight parking area it belonged to had just had it replaced because someone else did the exact same thing last week.

You become complacent with cameras and reversing sensors. I found out my hilux has a really nice blind spot on the camera the other day. One that doesn't exist when using the mirrors... and the scratched Audi needs a new boot lid because of it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thank you all for providing your inputs towards my problems. Much appreciate it. The problems have been in the hands of 'Jeep God' for a few months awaiting resolution. The dealer told me that 1) TCM flash did apply to my car, which was confirmed by members here. This rules out mistaken identity; 2) they can not roll back the flash; 3) as requested by Jeep, did full san of car, and send report in, awaiting further instruction from Jeep.

Ive asked the dealer to reinstall TCM flash with the hope that it might fix the problem, cant get any worse than what i face now, the dealer initially agreed but later on declined as they said it does not help.

All i want is my 'old' powerful jeep back, the one can go anywhere, not the sissy one i have now. I guess i have to be on truck lane on uphill until the problems are resolved. God knows when that would happen.

Will provide feedback.

Well as Steve and Barboots have already explained YOU WILL NOT GET ENGINE RESPONSE IF YOU ARE IN A GEAR THAT IS TOO HIGH.

So if you are in 4th gear doing 30kph uphill and you put your foot down, then nothing will happen because your revs are too low and the gear is too high. This is why you NEED to change down a gear or two (I go uphill in 2nd gear at 30kph) to get the car into a higher rev range (~2000rpm) so you can accelerate.

This makes no sense, if you want to overtake at 80kph, the transmission should be shifting down to 6th or something to give you higher revs and more power to accelerate. Not shifting up to 8th, that is for cruising.

My car will not accelerate uphill in 8th gear at 80kph, the revs are far too low.

gear Never downshifted before The TCM flash on Mt Ousley Rd, 80kph on 8th gear uphill, rpm's up around 3000+, engine roared, drove on far right lane overtaking other cars, loved the speed back then. Now engine sounds weak compared to before, rpm's up 3000+ too, but not speed, drive on truck lane watching others overtake me. Even Mrs complaints about it.
