I have an MY15 (build date 11th Sept 2014) and the feature works.

Would you like me to take a video of it working? The KL is out on the road with the husband at the moment but I can take a video of it tomorrow if you would like further evidence.

Let me know - am happy to do so.
That would be great! A video of the screen while you're talking to it. No hurry though - been working on this for 18 months!
Thanks, r

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Maybe include at the start a screen shot of the build date sticker - there seems to be some implication that the rules were changed at some point and the VR on
Y disabled for later cars.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

No worries. Will do it tomorrow.

Will ask VR to navigate to an address whilst stationary and repeat whilst on the move.

Will capture build sticker on drivers door at the beginning of the vid to confirm build date.

Stay tuned - will post late tomorrow afternoon, early evening.

ETA: My Uconnect version on the KL is V14.29.09. There is a later update but I have not done it yet.

2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Had the DPF warning appear today which luckily coincided with a trip on the highway. Not that surprising as the car has done a bit over a month and a half of only < 10km trips around town where as we normally do a long highway run at least once a month.

Message came up regen in progress filter 80% full got out of town and selected 7th to keep the revs up (seemed to make it a bit quicker but was still reducing in auto) and within 10-15 mins was down to 0% then a completed message.

Now the old fear of do I get the tsb done at the next service or if it ain't broken don't fix it. Decisions decisions.

P.s Can admit to a sick feeling in my stomach during the burn waiting for it to slam into limp mode

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Russell - vid for you showing VR Nav whilst on the move in the MY15 KL. I thought no point in showing you the same thing when stationary - it works the same. (Husband driving and giving commands).

- first half - inputting an address via VR.

- second half - using VR with POI's (Point of Interest). We chose Restaurant but it works for schools, petrol stations etc.

Please excuse the jumpiness of the vid - I couldn't keep it still on the sometimes less than smooth road. Also apologies for the screen - it really needs a clean doesn't it. I hadn't noticed how dirty it is.

Attached also separately, a pic of the build sticker.

Are you serious?? He's allowed to give commands???? And what's more, he can drive AND talk?? A true multitasker. A keeper for sure!

Not sure if you know Russell, but a group of users on the 300c site have already filed a submission against Chrysler Aust with the ACCC with regards to the VR Nav issue. It was submitted a couple of weeks ago and they are currently in wait mode.

I have been in contact with Geoff (who has filed the submission) and he is aware that the KL is capable of this - the only Chrysler vehicle currently in Aust that has this functionality (that we know of - refer to my edit).

Whilst the submission does make specific reference to the 300, it can only bode well (if successful) for the WK2 of which Geoff is fully aware.

Editing to add: I have asked before if any owners of an MY15 GC has this functionality enabled. No one has responded. Could you please if you own an MY15 Grand confirm or otherwise, if Nav via VR works.

2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Another issue came up at my recent service: I asked them to apply the recall RC P67. It requires replacement of the ORC module (occupant resistant control) and is safety related. They told me that this recall does not apply to Australian cars. However, it is listed on the Australian government Product Safety Recalls website.
Has anyone had this done, or have any further info?
Thanks,
Russell
EDIT: forgot to add that P67 is also listed under my VIN on the Mopar Owner Connect website.

Can't see P67 there at all. I have the same model and it's not been listed under my VIN.

cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

For our recalls we have this thread - Product Safety Recalls Australia

The Govt website for all Chrysler recalls is here - Chrysler

12th December, this was published - Chrysler Australia Pty Ltd—2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Chrysler Australia Pty Ltd—2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
PRA number: 2014/14484
Date published: 12th December 2014

Product description
2014 (WK) Jeep Grand Cherokee

Identifying features
RC P67

What are the defects?
Some of the above vehicles may experience the Occupant Resistant Control (ORC) module developing an internal fault. A coating on the ORC module printed circuit boards may have been improperly applied during the manufacturing process. If the coating was applied incorrectly, lead salts may form and cause a resistive short across the ORC module printed circuit board

What are the hazards?
This could cause the airbag warning lamp to illuminate and potentially disable the passive restraint system. This could cause an increased risk of injury during certain crash conditions.

What should consumers do?
Chrysler Jeep will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Jeep dealership whereby the dealer will repair and/ or replace circuit board.

Other regulator reference numbers
P67

I had the same result form the dealer, it does still show up against my vin when you check it on the two websites I know of:
https://www.moparownerconnect.com/oc...allsQuery.aspx

https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/

My service sheet, showing it marked as OS only.
