Firstly the dual colouring looks fantastic, I love it.

So, in my opinion, the lighter colours are actually far better than the darker colours when it comes to dirtiness.....

The exception is the carpet mats - cream/light colour ones will look utterly disgusting after a very short time, likewise the carpet if you don't protect with a mat....

If my Overland had cream carpet I would likewise do the same trick.

Thanks Tillsy for the heads up. I suppose one of the reasons why I chose a white exterior is that it tends to hide the dirt a little better than darker colours. Not that I'm dirty, (well maybe sometimes...hee hee) but with regular use I have found that my White Nissan Patrol hid the, lets call it, road grime better than my wife dark blue sedan. I believe grey cars are similar in hiding road grime.

I have a friend who owns a black merc and washing the car is like painting the Harbour Bridge. As soon as he's washed and dried it, he has to start all over again. Maybe a little exagerated but you know what I mean.

Tillsy, I'll definitely take your suggestion and buy the black mats. I'd dare say that cream mats wouldn't stay pristine for too long.

I think spraying the wife would be inappropriate. It would take too long to sand her back....

Besides, if I had to paint her rear quarter panels, how many cans would I need!!! I'd sooner paint a bus.

Yes dear?...Did you call me?.... I'm coming dear.......Ouch!!

Absolutely, couldn't agree more. My V8 CalaisV is Evoke, the Holden charcoal colour, and while it looks gorgeous when clean she looks hideous at all other times So I likewise ensured my Overland was white, much to the wife's disappointment.

Didn't occur to me before, but one of my other cars DID have cream mats. Grey interior and cream mats. I shampood them every two weeks, couldn't stand how filthy they always looked. So, whereas my V8 I got black mats right from the start, I gave in and changed that car from cream to black mats too. That was a year ago and, aside from vacuuming them maybe twice in that time, I've not had to worry about them since! And the contrasting colours looks fantastic, something I've continued to implement elsewhere.

Tillsy, your mats were not your only problem. Don't know if anyone has told you yet but,...... your steering wheel is on the wrong side as well.

On both cars!!

Thanks mate - still wading through all the posts here but definitely seems I found the right forum

BTW the two pics above were of the same car - before and after of the interior during all my restoration/customisation work which happened to also show the dirty light mats and dirty black mats. Difference is astounding.

Now to go fix the pedals and steering wheel...

Tillsy, nice DeLorean! Can't say that there would be too many in Australia. Parts must be a bi@&# to find in Australia. Did you redo the paint work as well? Send me some photos through private message. This is the JGC and not the DMC forum afterall...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

There were two DeLoreans originally brought into Aus, the head of Pepsi Aus had one, the other got sold pretty quickly and the prestige car dealer I lived next to snapped it up. It was quite the trip driving to 7-11 in a DeLorean.

When the Late Paul Terry (ex Monitor Money fame) owned the Esplanade Hotel and Extravaganza here in Albany he had a Delorean (among many other rare collectables) in his collection.

He also built this house with 900mt airstrip for his Cessna Citation
