Mine can get 10-15 kph over the set limit when running down a decent decline on the highway. In this situation I use paddles to select actual gears. This is better than using the brakes and de-activating cruise control.

On my drive yesterday with ACC set at 100kph I was on one of the downhill sections on the F6 just south of Waterfall. Got up to 105kph before it pulled it up. Felt more like brakes than engine braking, you tend to get more engine noise if it chops it down a cog or two.

Yes, it might be best to add which cruise control when discussing. I think the adaptive might be different.

I do the same drive a couple of times a week. Next time I'll try with normal cc to see if it's any different.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It also could be different depending on which equipment is fitted. I'm pretty sure my Overland brakes, though I never use the normal cruise mode.

Cheers,
Steve

Regardless whether acc is on its a seperate feature to cruise. I can assure if there is no vehicle in front it will brake to slow to your set speed. I use it every day travelling 70k each way to work on a freeway.

I would be dirty on the Jeep if it accelerated slowly on cruise resume.

Didn't spend 60k on a car to be concerned with 20c of fuel.

Have you confirmed whether this is the case in a non-ACC equipped Grand though Nikjac? Everyone reporting braking so far has an Overland... the reports of no braking are from owners of Limited and Laredo trim levels.

I'm certainly not saying that it's definitely the case... I've never driven the other models so am not able to make a such a blanket statement. However the two owners who report "runaway" are not on my list of people to ignore, and I have absolutely no reason to doubt their observations.

Cheers,
Steve

My Laredo doesn't apply brakes and will go over the set limit. It will try to engine brake but if the hill is too steep it gives up and goes up a gear.
