Mine suffered from rough shifts 1-3, 3-1 from new and also had metal in the oil pan. We had a relatively painless experience with the fix and warranty approval for ours which I think largely comes down to having a good dealer.

DS84- prices were only for some parts, not labour, cooler or pipe work, ect. Vehicle still in pieces, told new transmission didn't fix problem. Now looking at electrical + connections. They have not gave me a reasonable answer for the metal in transmission. Have asked again for reversing camera to be replaced, as it is still a blurry mess at night. Jeep Aus have now asked them to upgrade it while they have it, so time will tell. Had these problems for 2 years now- over the BS from this dealer and Jeep. After 3 weeks with out a car, got KLuger loan car. So still out of pocket paying for insurance to drive it of $27 a day + fuel. Jeep don't cover insurance of loan cars, was told could drive it without if I wanted too risk it. I have a car in workshop that I'm paying rego + insurance on, have lost 5 weeks usage so far. Australia needs Lemon laws brought in, this car has been a problem since new.

That's a very competitive price for insurance... just $9,855 per annum.
I hope you get some resolution soon.

I see you are in "central west nsw" burger - so no way to take it to another dealer?

Can go to another dealer but travel time changes from 2 hours to nearly 4 hours each way. Vehicle is pulled apart at moment.

The front lights had a white DRL surround like ours, but when the indicator started flashing the surround did a quick FADE until it was at half brightness. Then when we turned and his indicator stopped the DRL surround quickly brightened back to 100%.

So not only did it not turn off completely and look blown like our Jeeps, but it did a very elegant fade effect which looked very classy.

I saw a new Lexus SUV LX or maybe RX that changes the DRL from white to flashing orange, looks pretty cool and takes the focus off the hideous lower grille.

The indicator lamps on the JGC seem to be very powerful (maybe unnecessarily so).
Not complaining, theyre great, they throw light forward better than the headlights of some previous cars i've owned.
Sitting at traffic signals the other night it cast orange light noticeably on objects some distance away.

Wife has the 2015 A3 and the white drl fades out 50% as mentioned above and when the turn signal is off its brights up again. back to normal...wish the GC had that...atleast the GC drl is a lot better than compared to the new klugers and the santa fe's.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

6 weeks today, GC still not fixed. they are running out of parts + electrical too change out. What they have done is worth more than vehicle. We have wrote a letter + talked to dealer principal and he is forwarding our letter to Jeep Aus. We have told them to keep the GC, we do not want it back as it has been a LEMON from the day we picked it up. We have done extra 3900kms to dealers workshop to get things fixed, that's not including twice on tow truck + trying to get things fixed each time it was serviced. We brought this Diesel Jeep ,with air suspension to travel around Australia. Our friends + family have now return, and we couldnt go because of the problems this vehicle has had. The gearbox issue has been going on for nearly 2 years. So now the wait ,too see what Jeep + dealer does. Should be lemon laws in Australia to protect people.
