Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Perhaps you should produce a video for UTube? That appears to get their attention.
I would suggest you register a complaint with ACCC. That way, at least your circumstance will be registered with them, which will assist with their monitoring FCA's actions to their customers.

We have rang Dept. Fair Trading. Yes, next is ACCC. Just a bad time of year to be happening.

You are in NSW according to your profile, so I strongly recommend NCAT, my dealer ignored everything else, they were mocking Fair Trading/didn't care about ACCC.

I'm the proud owner of a 4 digit cheque from my dealer after NCAT sent them a notice, I'm too proud of it to bank it.

Yep - NCAT and ACCC is the only language JA understand. They both have easy on line complaint forms.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Not a cheque for me but probably 4k worth of rectification for me. Dept fair trading and ACCC is worth pursuing if you believe you have a legitimate grievance.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi all, I thought I would give you an 'end of year' update. I am obviously fortunate in that my GC Limited CRD is running perfectly, not a lot of K's after 2 1/2 yrs as it now just on 40,000.
Did a couple of big trips down NSW way and returned 7.2 per 100 average fully loaded with 4 persons and luggage. So nothing bad to report, except I seem to have a small leak from the windscreen washer bottle. The engine and transmission are smooth as silk, so sorry to hear of the problems some of you are having, I totally agree we should have ' lemon laws' to protect us against dodgy manufacturing, this is where we need to lobby Govt and our Vehicle Associations to introduce this into law.

My wife an I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and may the New year be the best one yet. Stay safe, especially during this holiday period.

Hi Gforce, thanks for the update, i'm just on 13 months and 19,000lkm

When you say you're averaging 7.2 lt per 100. What is you average cruising speed? At 110 on the open road I can't get below about 8.7. Also can you tell me what Tyre pressures your EVIC is displaying.
Thanks

I am in a Nov 14 Reg Laredo and last week I did a quick trip from Sydney (Penrith) up to Coffs Harbour and back with an average of 7.1 l/100km.
That was 1 up (me) and around 200 kg of gear in the back (brochures etc).
It was pretty hot and the AC was on Auto all the time.
Pressure in the tires as shown on EVIC is 2.6 bar (37.7 psi).
There was plenty of 110 & 100kph running and plenty of 60 to 80 kph as well between Port Macquarie and Coffs (roadworks).
Mine has 47000 km on it now and has had no dramas at all... apart from having the Reversing Camera replaced to get the Active Grid Lines...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I would also expect the CRD to get better than 8.7.

Last year I drove my V6 petrol from Sydney to Queensland loaded with family, luggage and air conditioning on. The trip computer reported 8.6 L/100km average since the last fuel tank refill. I was cruising around 100-110kph (posted limits) and put this good result down to using the cruise control. I think cruise control is doing better mileage than my right foot can provide.

Thanks for the info. I too run cruise on the open road with A/C on. I do a lot of trips between Albany & Perth (400klm) at 110. not much lower speeds except through town so sounds similar to you and have only seen my tyre pressures get to 2.7 bar on 36+ deg days in Perth. I take it you're running the Michelin Lattudue Tourers as well. Most of the time I'm the only occupant and I carry a medium tool box, battery drill & PPE gear in a plastic crate. no more than 50kg all up.
Just wondering if my tyre pressures are too low. I'll up them and re test my fuel. If it doesn't improve i'm 800k off a 20k service so i'll follow up.

I'm not a saint of a driver but not a racer either.

thanks for you feed back.
