2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

If your trans overheated, it would have logged a fault code/s, which the dealer would've found. To find 'nothing wrong', yet say they have to strip the trans indicates that there is indeed "something wrong".
Hope you get it sorted soon

Now have to go to ACCC tribunal, to try and get replacement or money back. Jeep lied and said they new nothing about it, and Sainsbury Auto in Dubbo say they are going to fix it. Vehicle has never showed a fault.

It's taken me 2 years for gear box issue to be looked at, never showed a Fault or Code. Even when turbo, transmission and electrical components were replaced. Vehicle still in pieces, been there since 6/11/15. Spent more on GC than it's worth, but won't replace or give my back money. I'm the guinea pig , while dealer and Jeep try too sort it out.

These stories above, along with the recalls and media sensationalism has hit Jeep pretty hard. It was only a year ago the Grand Cherokee was the deservingly top seller in its class, easily outselling the Prado, whereas now it has fallen far behind. What are these guys at Jeep thinking?

Jeep told the ACCC they did not know about my car. So who ok the loan car and over $40000 worth of parts and whatever labour costs are at 11 weeks on vehicle and still don't know what is wrong with it.

Wow that's no good, does anyone know what the normal temperature the transmission should be running at? One of my mates ford ranger transmission was overheating, they said to him nothing was wrong with it! He kept taking it back and when the warrant ran out they told him it was going to cost $25,000 to replace it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

If a product owner has raised a specific problem within the warranty period, that particular problem remains a warranty issue even after the warranty expires. So if you experience what you perceive as a valid problem with your car (or whatever really)... and are told it is normal... always formally correspond. State the nature of the problem, the fact you have attempted to seek remedy, been advised that all is in order, and that your opinion remains in opposition.

Burger, that is an outrageous situation you're stuck in. What dealer is mis-handling this debacle on your behalf?

Cheers,
Steve

In the 8 speed it seems to be between 90 and 100. Mine sits between 92 and 96, towing or not.
Well over 100 won't harm the synthetic oils used in our cars.

Sainsbury Automotive Dubbo. After 6 weeks I drove to Dubbo which is a 354km return trip. He told me he was going to send my letter of complaint through to Jeep. Jeep say they know nothing about vehicle. Now 11 weeks still in parts. Told to wait until fixed or go too Tribunal Court. Just stalling for more time to to fix vehicle. They know I'm away for 2 weeks and when I get back it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get hearing at Tribunal. Dealer told me he was waiting to hear from Jeep to replace vehicle at 10 weeks. Now both are doing nothing hoping to fix it and give back. Roadside assist won't give you reference numbers for calls when trying to contact Resolution Center. So hard to prove anything against them.

Agree - as soon as people get a sniff that things are going pear shaped, whack in the NCAT (and ACCC) electronic complaint forms. Gets the ball rolling, demonstrates to the dealer you are not mucking around. You can always cancel it later.
