Be home next week. All paper work on what has happened and dates are there. Got the ACCC phone call just as we were going . Want to have everything right before I lodge it and ready for Tribunal.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Does anyone have any advice or positive comments on dealers in Melbourne from both a Sales and Service perspective.

I'm looking at a GC Overland and am conscious that the performance of the dealer is a big deal when buying a Jeep so thought it would be worth enquiring as to people's experiences.

The dealers that are the most convenient for me are Bayford in Hawthorn or Brighton Jeep.

A quick glance at the Google reviews for both of them suggests Bayford but wondering if anyone here has some real world experience.

Hi redgsr, I bought mine from Brighton Jeep and was very happy with the service. Dealt with Adam.
Cant comment on the servicing side as I have my own local mechanic.

Cheers, Craig

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Can anybody tell me what the tyre pressure should be for a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014 with Kumho KL61 SAT tyres? Preferably would like laden and unladen, not towing, highway and sand driving. I'm finding a lot of conflicting stories on this. When I got the tyres fitted, they came back at 2.9 bar (42 psi). The original KL21s were set at 2.5bar. (36psi)

There really isn't a single correct answer to this, what works for me
normal 36-38
towing 42 rear 40 front
sand 12-24

Also depends on tyre temp, a 36psi tyre when measured cold, can be 40psi when hot. The main aim is to maintain even wear of the tread, so if pressure is too high, the center of the tread will wear faster, too low and the shoulders will wear faster.

It has been discussed in this thread:
let's talk tyre pressure

I concur !!!

These figures work for me on Cooper AT3. Although I was not game enough to drop them less than 18 psi on sand.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have cooper AT3 too and run at 16 on the sand all the time - you'll be fine to be lower than 18.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Update on GC - 2 Jeep technicians were flown in to Dubbo from Melbourne and they have installed new computer yesterday- gearbox still jumping. So have been now checking over sensors and are going to order and replace Crankshaft tone wheel and sensor at the rear of motor. They picked up a fluctuation that computer wont pick up. Dubbo Jeep dealer and Jeep Aus. wont replace car , and are going to fix it. Now been at dealer for 13 weeks. Looks like trip to ACCC Tribunal. Finally got return call from resolutions after waiting 2 months , said the different sections/dept. sometimes don't talk, what a joke. Too say I'm disappointed in this companys handling of my vehicle is a understatement... Its a Lemon and they should replace it, or money back.

ACCC can't / won't do anything.

You want to go to NCAT.

Strongly recommend filling this paperwork out asap and filing it, you can always cancel.
