Had the same issue arise on my 2013 My2014 Overland Diesel
Trip back from the Murray river and my transmission overheated twice.
Didn't realise until I floored it to overtake a truck.
Electronic Throttle needs attention warning came up, went into limp mode, and I had to pull over and turn car off. Restart fixed the transmission lock, but it happened again about 15 minutes later. Transmission over temp light came on, trans was at 133 degrees, engine light came on, and Throttle warning again.
I parked up and let it cool down for 20 minutes and then it was okay.
That was about 3 weeks ago at 97000kms.
- A little transmission service note. The book says service trans at 50000, but the dealer told me that it has been changed to 100000. Ok...he knows what he is on about-
The trans has been running at about 93 to 103 since then, and hard acceleration makes the car hesitate as if you have a huge load on behind.
Took it to the dealer yesterday for 100000km service and told them about trans overheat and Throttle warnings.
Went to pick it up last night as they said it was ready.
No trans service. No faults found.
Spoke to the service manager, and he told me they have changed the trans service schedule again...nice of them to tell us...
Asked him when it is now due, so he checked the servicing schedules.
Couldn't find trans service in the schedule all the way from 10000 to 200000 service....Bloody Hell....
They also said that there are no computer logs showing faults in the trans or the throttle. I showed them the pic I took of the fault on the Evic, and gave them the date...surprise surprise...the faults are actually logged.
The service manager offered to do some research, and get the car back when he had answers. Cool. Off I go. I love my Jeep.
Take off with a little bit of gusto to make sure all is good, and FFS my car is in Limp mode. Shite. Back inside. They still have my car, and I am looking for something else.
Love the car but the service and knowledge is attrocious.
N.B. the fault codes log at service yesterday was about 17 pages long, but my car is fine.
Sorry for the essay. Will update soon. Chester.
