Butts_Oz.
you are one of the lucky ones so far. You are listed under the tracking but very little action against your details. How you got your E number is a mystery.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

MILOUS,
Just two minor questions:-
Post #1 ...I note you have the features list (pre-liminary) for the RHD 4WD Overland 5.7L but nothing for the Overland CRD....I am presuming that is because the features are identical?....and it was a pre-liminary list. Is that still pre-liminary or now final.

Also in Post #1 you have all the finer details in the features list (Preliminary) for a RHD 4WD Summit. Is their any reason why this vehicle has not been eliminated from this post in view that we are NOT going to get the Summit or is their a bomb shell coming?

Send a PM to Milous, he may be able to help you on this. Not sure there should be a level 3, when I renew next year it will be a lifetime subscription. Jeep Garage is worth the small cost of this subscription.

Hi Webber, I can't say I did anything special. When I spoke to my dealer, I said right from the beginning I want to be engaged with the process. I got an email with the E number with a screen dump of the order without asking. Maybe just an honest person.

I know that my vehicle won't be one of the first on the boat, but today it went to D1 at the factory, so what everyone is saying still amazes me how the factory can build a vehicle not knowing what the spec will be. Seems quite childish to me to not let us know. The fact we are all here discussing it and use our resources to inform us through Milous, should tell Jeep Australia that we are really interested in our investment. I suppose like some businesses, they want to be the people in the know, not the customer. Unfortunately, this is old thinking and maybe with the change at the top, we might see some more transparency. When it takes up to 4 months (or more) to receive an order, it can only be good that the customer can see where the status of the vehicle it up to. It takes the pressure of the dealership and allows them more time to sell vehicles.

My rant for the morning, but at least I am now queued at the factory for a build.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

When the CRD was released they did not give out E# either. I called them about 20 times and eventually got the national sales manager and he gave me the details. It seems that they are genuinely disorganized and chop and change/mix n match cars to customers.

I also bet they will delay the '14 model deliveries to the early orders until they have the launch party. I am hoping the new CEO will try harder to provide information and be more customer service focused. Their social media responses are pathetic at best and BS'ing and deleting people from their Facebook for asking WTF is not the way to handle their concerns.

I mean FFS we are buying a $50-80k car and demand some form of updates and service.

Am I interpreting this correct. The tracking site has you down as ordering your vehicle as recently as 10/4/13 and yet you already have an E number and you are showing on Milous' tracking thread. How can that be. There are many CRD OVERLAND sales that would have been taken prior to your date with no E numbers released. Please confirm your ordering date because 10/4/13 needs clarifying...perhaps that is the date the order was received in Detroit?

Webber, I don't want you to be disappointed, but my order was placed at the dealership on 10 Apr.

Thankyou. Something is just not right here. I do not believe dealers are withholding these numbers but why HQ is providing numbers to some and not others is a complete mystery. Many have CRD Overland orders in the system much ealier than you, even prior to Christmas and cannot get access to these confirmation E numbers. Thankyou again....at least other readers viewing this site will be enlightened.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hey Milous,

On Page 1, the following two features are listed under RHD 4WD Laredo 3.0L CRD's:

18X8.0 Polished Aluminium Wheels
8.4 Touch Screen Display

Understand this is a preliminary list, however, as no other wheel or radio options are listed, does this mean that the above are included as stock on the Australian Laredo?

One local dealership I called a few weeks ago seemed to think the 8.4 Touch Screen Display would be standard across all models?...

UHHH OHHHH#

I can see a Conspiracy Theory/s evolving here!!

This is turning into a "Who Shot JR??" and
"Who was the shooter on the Grassy Knoll when JFK died??"
and
"Did the Chinese submarine pick up Harold Holt off Cheviot Beach, Portsea??"
and why name so many swimming pools after a Prime Minister that drowned???

As the old saying goes; "if theres a choice between a Conspiracy Theory and a stuff up, its generally a stuff up!!"

So lets hope the new CEO can get the STUFF UPS out of the system, sweep a big broom through the existing Marketing and PR people and get her own people in there QUICK!!

My dealer got back to me and said; "Still no commission number on your car and as you showed me the forum, that should come as no surprise. When jeep Aus get it they will pass it on to us, as it sits now they do not have it. I hope we can get it soon, but it is out of our hands."

Still wondering how Butts_oz got his so quick tho??

Hang on, thats a CONSPIRACY THEORY GORN MAD!!!

Wake up to yourself Bluey###########

"Tell me I'm Dreaming" (My names not Darryl)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi Guys, my first post. I put in an order for a CRD Overland in late march and have been given a preliminary delivery date of 31st July. Spoke to the dealer last week and all he had received was an e-mail with a screen dump of their orders to date for him to check and to add new orders before they started the AU build run but no E numbers. The only dates he could see against my vehicle was the 4th April and the 31st July delivery date. He had no idea if the 4th was the build date or the order confirmation date but said it's about 3 months from build till he sees it in the dealership. This seems similar to what I have been reading bere but there is still way too much guess work with the only real info filtering through coming from Milous. Thanks Milous from what I have read in this forum you are a legend.
