Hi Guys, my first post
Welcome.

Try not to go nuts while you are waiting for delivery. I'm always impressed by people who are willing to order a new car sight unseen. I could not do it....

Understand this is a preliminary list, however, as no other wheel or radio options are listed, does this mean that the above are included as stock on the Australian Laredo?

One local dealership I called a few weeks ago seemed to think the 8.4 Touch Screen Display would be standard across all models?...

I was lucky enough to receive an e number from my dealer a few weeks ago and have been tracking its progress via Milous' tracking system. I originally ordered on 18/1/13 - CRD Laredo with QL, no other factory options. My Jeep was recently built and I received the build sheet. Given the absence of formal specs being released by Jeep Aus I thought I would let you all know some of the key features shown on my build sheet. It may help with the waiting process or for those contemplating an order.

- Bi-Xenon HID headlamps
- LED daytime running headlamps
- 18 x 8.0 polished aluminium wheels
- 8.4 touch screen display (RJ3)
- Tow eye brackets (not sure what this means - will tow hooks fit??)
- Single disc remote CD player (doh't!)
- 8 spd auto (8HP70)

All other specs seem to be the same as '11-'13

Either the above kit is standard on Aus Laredos or Jeep Aus are applying as standard to early orders until official specs and options are released.

Hope this helps

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for that Renegade.
Glad to some specs for the Laredo. All the questions on this site and all the specs are relating to the Overlands so good to see some of us are happy with the base model Laredo.
I thought mine was an "Early Order" put in by me in mid November but apparently there are Earlier Orders than mine asIm still waiting even after harrassing my dealer.
(See post #1434)

A good wait never hurt anyone!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks GMWK2,
I did test drive a 2012 Laredo CRD with the 5 speed box and get to look over and play with the Quadra lift on a Overland ready for delivery in the dealership so it's not as if I'm going in blind.

Thanks, very helpful for Laredo buyers because quite upmarket compared to the American version. You get the LED headlamps, 8.4 touch screen and the CD player as Standard. Excellent value for Laredo guys....Good luck to you. What I would like Jeep AU to do now is place Adaptive headlights on the Overland and put a smile on more faces.

This would be enough to prevent me from placing a sight unseen order for a MY14.

I use my GC off road and after all the drama of dealing with Jeep Aus to get them to come up with the rather crappy recovery hook for my MY12, along with a number of other issues, I'm not going down the route again....

So until I actually see the MY14 siting in a yard here in Australia and I can physically check off all the items that are important to me, no way I would order one sight unseen.

When I replace my car in a year or so, if the MY14 hasn't got decent recovery hooks again it might be a Disco for me...

For those who have placed orders for a MY14 - I wish you good luck and hope it works out for you.

Do you think you could rip it out easily without damaging the rest of the area?
That thing eats up valuable space.

agree the potential lack of tow hooks is an issue. but not enough to put me off buying one. am hoping the standard mopar ones can be fitted, but if not there will (eventually) be a solution. be it jeep aus or special fabrication as I have seen others do on this forum.

Milous can you help out here? do you know if the standard mopar tow hooks will fit the AUS export models?

there is a thread on the main forum about the poor location of the CD player - seems many of our US friends are not happy and are looking for solutions to remove it. am sure it can be done by replacing the console inserts. could be expensive though.

Had a good chat with my dealer today. He is as much in the dark as us over the release of E numbers.

He is now a member of this forum and is aware of the frustrations he has passed all this onto JeepAU but they have not changed their stance. I think the dealers are trying hard to be transparent and would pass the info on if they had it. I will know more as soon as he does.

I have to agree Erina. While it is frustrating for us, it is Jeep Australia that you should take out your frustrations on, not the dealer. By all means hassle them to give up information but save your energy for the haggle
