It appears so, I'm going off my build sheet for my Laredo which was built last week and on its way to the port. My build sheet lines up with the features list in the first post of this thread.

From the information I currently have (subject to change at anytime) the Laredo is the only model not getting the new headlight cluster. However still has the daytime driving lights just not LED.

If you have any other questions please shoot me an email and will do my best to get the information.

I believe the LED DRLs are part of the Bi-xenon headlight cluster. The previous Laredo had bi-xenon headlights as standard, I'm assuming this is continuing with the 14.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Tried my dealer again for E number this is his response.

Hi , there are no numbers from jeep until the car is built this is the factory process that we as a dealer cannot change ! Once the car is built and is about to leave the factory ready to be shipped jeep will give the car an e number which we can then forward to you so you can track the cars progress to australia! Cheers

Can anyone confirm that this is in fact the process. If this is correct then it would seem to explain why no E numbers available yet.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

No that process is not correct. The E number is assigned once the order is accepted by Jeep in the US. If you look at the tracking thread you can see there are cars listed that have yet to be built.

It seems to me that E numbers are held tightly by Jeep Aus and only certain dealers with good connections into Jeep Aus are getting the numbers and passing them on to customers

I think you will find that Jeep AU have orders in place prior to customers ordering their vehicles, and are now allocating customer orders to vehicles already made. So i guess, in AU we dont get custom orders as such, just an allocation to an order Jeep AU have put to the factory.

That would seem to make sense to me iboughtajeep and maybe explain how some members have obtained E numbers fairly quickly. They have been just lucky enough that the vehicle they ordered matched with one already in the pipeline ordered by JeepAU and they then allocate it to that customer.

I will just have to hope that JeepAu has the same taste as me in model, options, colour and trim and orders one just like I want. Then when they realise I want one they can allocate it to me. What a great system

Welcome aboard Michael.

Now everyone - BE GENTLE WITH MICHAEL!! A Jeep Sales Manager on jeepgarage.org is indeed a rare species. Remember, Michael has a job to keep, mortgage to pay, mouths to feed and etc. I am sure that Michael will tell us whatever he can without jeopardising his job. At the end of the day, we don't want to tear down our fellow Aussie mates - especially a Jeep Manager - who could offer us value in many other ways. Remember also that policy comes from above - not from below. If we are angry with certain things about CJD policy, let's not direct it to Mick. I'm sure the fact that he was brave enough to join us in this blog site shows that he's a decent enough of a bloke.

Again, welcome Michael aboard.

I'm now confused. Does the Laredo CRD have the LED lights or not???

Milous, could you perhaps confirm the LED lights situation?

(BTW, Milous hope you're o.k. as I haven't seen a post from you on this thread for a couple of days.)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

All GC's have DRL's. The current model has these built into the headlight structure, and uses a standard bulb. Similar to a Parking Light.
The MY14, with the exception of the Larado, will have a seperate DRL fitting, using strip LED's.
My understanding is that the MY14 Larado, will use the same DRL setup as the current MY13 GC's.

I have been advised by the dealer that he has a 6 digit body number for my vehicle which is apparently part of the VIN number. Does anyone know about this?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well, decided not to accept the Black interior on the Cherry CRD Overland that had been ordered in error by the Dealer, and have accepted delayed delivery as a consequence. Sad to say, I have given up my valued Enumber!! But, looking at the Light Frost Beige my wife and I do not want to go with something we will regret for quite a few years.

So, while my old order is being tracked with a status of D1 (not built yet), I will now have to wait for a new Enumber. BUT, all is not lost, as the dealer had a White CRD Overland in the system as a stock buy, but was able to change this over to Cherry/Beige, supposedly with a May build estimation, so overall, with a ton of luck, might not have to wait more than a month longer that originally estimated (I must be an optimist!!)

Now the bad news - I tried to get the CD in the centre console deleted as it looks like a crock to me!! - but no go, seems it cannot be deleted as all Australian GC's will come with this obsolete antiquated cumbersome misplaced useless piece of junk!!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Seaweed,

Contact Milous and request they cancel the tracking on the current car. You may not be aware, but you are only able to have tracking on 1 vehicle only. So ordinarily, you would not be allowed to track the replacement car. Tell Milous the reasons you wish to cancel, and request the option to track the replacement when it becomes available.
