Hi Trajcern, the full list of specs for each model will be released to dealers when the release date for the vehicle is imminent.
Jeep Australia like to keep it quiet from everyone for as long as they can. I have tried probing every representative of Jeep Australia that I speak to so I can have as much knowledge as possible. Everyone is very tight lipped about what we will and won't get.

Thanks for the reply. I don't understand the secrecy, especially when the current model is close to being sold out. I guess patience is the key.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hello Everybody,
I am fairly new here. Today i called my local Jeep Dealer in Albion, Brisbane Australia. I will be placing an order for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited fairly soon. I tried to get some information on specifications. The only thing he told me was that all the models from the Laredo through to Overland will have the same exterior look. I asked him this because I wanted to know if the limited model comes with the Bi Xenon Headlights. He told me that all models coming to Australia will have Bi Xenon Headlights.

I am curious as to whether what he told me was correct?

Can anyone please answer this question?

I currently own a MY13 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, Silver, 18" wheels with Michelins, Beige interior that was locally done here downunder. Oh yes it is a 3.0 diesel and I am loving the power and that creamy purr from the diesel engine.

Can anyone please tell me how do I become a contributing member of this forum?

Thank you

Regards
Ameet.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I received my build sheet from Milous today (don't worry guys he's still alive ). Similarly to 78renegade, I ordered a Laredo and my build sheet lists "LM2S - Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps" and "LMZS - Daytime Running Headlamps" under "Standard Equipment".

Milous, given all the contradictory information regarding which headlamps will be fitted on the Australian Models, could you clarify this one for us?

PS. I'll copy and paste all listed "Standard Equipment" from my build sheet later this weekend. If we can round up other build sheets (i.e. Limited, Overland and SRT) and post them here we'll have some pretty accurate information for anyone waiting on the Australian Specification... or not so lucky getting E Numbers from their dealer...

I still can't believe Jeep Australia stating "the specification hasn't been decided". LOL...

Can anyone else with a Laredo build sheet comment on this?

I would just like to commend the above two gentlemen for participating in this forum.
It should not be a THEM and US situation. It is a shame most dealers avoid this site.
I do hope NSWelshmen support you guys.

Jeep Au must know what they are doing and what maximises growth in their business even though I cannot understand. I really do wonder if they would actually do better by being more open. Who knows. Car dealers MUST be losing a percentage of business with these practices but I am speaking from outside the industry so I obviously must be wrong. All I DO KNOW is that I won't wait like this again. After waiting so long now (well over 12 months) it would be rediculous to drop out when the cars are about to arrive. Even if Jeep Au and the Dealers had someway of bringing customers along with them rather than utter and complete silence. Next time, after this experience I will be more prepared. With hindsight, had I known this mess (The dealer getting the wrong colour car) would involve in excess of a 12 month wait I would have paid out more money and purchased a Land Rover. If I like this car which I suspect I will going by all the reviews and comparisons now on the net I would like to think I will upgrade to the next major model change. The Summit, which Jeep Au will one day introduce will almost certainly overpower their competitors if they continue along their current path when introducing the next major change. But I will be prepared and will not wait. Also, we still have Paige although she appears to have gone missing in action.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

webber,
I agree with your comments. I joined the industry ~50 years ago and quickly became disillusioned about their ability to run a business with even a minimal level of integrity. So, I moved on and never looked back.

I have purchased at least 20 new vehicles since that time, and do not have high expectations about the overall honesty or any sort of care about the customer. Today most of the local importer/dealers staff only care about their results for the current month - so it is no surprise we get little or no joy from them. Jeep is no better or worse than any other - but when a new model is about to arrive, they are under enormous pressure to clear their existing stock, because we all know the write downs they will cop selling old models after new ones are public.

Their customers that buy the so called 2013 model are the ones that I feel for, because they are the real victims here.

A mate of mine has been trying to get information from Paige for the last month or so for a Fiat (the rebadged dodge journey) but is pretty much sick of chasing her. He is now looking elsewhere....

Seaweed, thanks.
your comment, "Their customers that buy the so called 2013 model are the ones that I feel for, because they are the real victims here."

I have already stated I am in retailing and my ethics would never allow the above....and I won't repeat my thoughts other than to post the below link and ponder why nothing has ever changed in this industry.

Michael and Alex,

I commend you both for your contribution so far.
I would go out of my way to purchase my next Jeep from you if you were to continue to show your customer support and understanding on this forum. I am pretty sure that other forum members too would repay you with their loyalty.

I really do hope that your presence will persist...
