I ordered a 2012 in May with an August delivery, and ended up with a 13 in October. Can't imagine why you would have no car if you ordered 9 months ago.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

[QUOTE=allypally;762409]In all fairness, Jeep Australia has not made any public announcement regarding the MY14, and all your knowledge of that model has come through the Forums. Had you not been reading here, you would have no idea that there is a new model in the pipeline, and as far as you are concerned, you would probably be quite happy with the models currently on display in the showrooms had you not visited the forums.[\QUOTE]

Agree with most of what you have said but not the above part. We ordered a my13 in november and 2 days later our dealer rang us up informing us we could no longer order this model and we were put down for the new my14 due around May. Therefor we actually knew the new model was coming before I found these forums. Jeep australia may not have made public announcments but dealers are when you try and get one built to specifications.

Robo m8,

I did a bit of sleuthing and Mr Sam Tabart's email is;

stabart@fcg.com FCG is Fiat Chrysler Group.

So maybe we can compose a common letter of requests for Info that can be sent by individuals to address JGC MY 14 Release and Supply Issues we have.

As well, just had a visit to my Mornington Peninsula Jeep dealer. He saw me coming and immediately said , "Jeep Oz has opened up the MY14 Order Books and YOURS has been submitted". He anticipated my question.

Sat down and had a chat re what about MY14 colours ,external and interior, different options etc peculiar to the MY14.

Because Ima base model Laredo with standard options like CRD,Quadralift, Sunroof etc there is no other options. Laredo's will be standardised throughout.

However, you mob have issues with the differences between Overland and Summit models, he couldnt answer.
He said that I should get mine early MAY.

Am I a dreamer or living in fools paradise?? I donth think so.

See the Jeep when its at the dealers and not before.

Bluey

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

ROBO,

Ask for a VON and then start tracking. That is the real way of knowing what is going on, whether the car is scheduled for build, is being built, or finally, is in shipping.

They talk of E numbers in Aust here not VON.

Did any one get an E number and track it here for MY11,12,13 ?

good detective work ! I considered pinging him via linkedin or facebook but changed my mind.

I think it would have to be a very compelling letter naming a number of dissatisfied customers to get a response. He would have PAs screening his email, calls etc.

There are too many possible hiccups until an item actually ships and you know when you really have it coming. Now I expect this to be quite different for car deliveries and announcements will be made earlier, but I can understand the lack of official info. Hell the US does not still have all official info so why would we?
As we have only just entered 2013, most people will sure as hell not be expecting to be hearing news about a 2014 model.
I would like to know all info now, but in reality it is not going to help me until there are firm details on offer from Jeep Aus, including an accurate supply time line.
Getting our panties in a twist over info that is not currently available but will come in a timely and no do doubt planned manner is a waist of energy.

Jeep Aus are still showing 2012 as the current model, let alone MY 2013 so expecting news from them about 2014 is crazy.
Awe c'mon ! Who told you about the panties ???

Quite a few did, including AllyPally. You won't get a VON/E number until Chrysler Aust processes your order, which can be several weeks after the dealer submits the order.

I am not kidding. Signed up in early May 2012 for an Overland and paid $1000.00 deposit. Was told to expect car in August. In the mean time the family car died but thought we would just use our daughters car till August. Then the dealer said the anticipated delivery date would be October 2012, the 8th I think. Around the 10th October I rang the dealer to inquire about my new car. I was told it should be out the back being prepped and they would ring back. Next day got a call from Sales Manager informing me they had imported the wrong colour car. They said they tried all over Australia without Success. By this time Overlands were becoming scarce. They offerred to import another car but said would not arrive until February or March at latest. By now it was virtually confirmed on Jeep Garage that the MY14 8 speed with many other changes was in the pipeline with a manufactuing start date of January. I informed the dealer that they would be handing me a car two months after they had actually stopped making it and that it would be devalued by $10k immediately so I informed them I would wait for the MY14. In the meantime my wife and I are still driving my daughters little Holden Astra.....and I still can't find out what is happenning. Will I get a car by July or will it be September and WHAT WILL IT BE. I just do not believe that at this point in time Head Office do not know if the Summit or Overland is coming. These are multi million dollar outlays. I do not believe they toss a coin into the air say this March/April and say, "oh! lets have an Overland AND a Summit". Are you kidding me. They know, these are not $2 chocolate blocks.
