Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Alexcjd,
I live in North Queensland and went for the black interior with my deep cherry red Limited. I wanted the easy clean for black and was surprised to find out how cool the black leather interior was in a closed up car in December prior to my 2 test drives in different days. Far cooler than a white Kia Sorrento parked beside the jeep. It must be the substantial roof and dash lining and the the Deep Tint Sunscreen Glass. It may also be why all the reviews say there is virtually no road or engine noise. Why don't you test a black interior before you order. I'd tell you about mine but its still stuck at the factory from a December 1 order.

I live in the middle of the Northern Territory, in the desert. I have a black Grand Cherokee with black leather. I have no problem with heat unless I leave the sunroof shade open, and it's easy to keep clean. I would destroy a beige interior.

4x2 Laredo is a definite, if that's what you were inquiring about... first batch is on vessel and scheduled to arrive to AU ~ first week of June.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Alex,

Thanks for clarification. Would you be able to tell me if the 2014 models will come with recovery hooks? I understand they come with a screw type tow hooks but they are not rated for recovery.

I was told by Aspley Jeep that it will cost me $900.00 for a recovery hook. I was going to buy from ebay for under $300USD deliverd to my door for a mopar recovery hook but now that I am upgrading....

Thanks
Ameet

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yoda,

I have always liked light coloured interior. Before buying the Laredo i was doing a bit of hunting to buy the right car. Every other dealer i went to, tried to sell me a black interior even though i told them no.

The jeep dealer was the only dealer that cared to ask if i have a certain preference for interior. Soon i will post some pics of my Laredo's interior. The leather seats, the door cards with the black accents look good.

A Jeep endorsed company here in Caboolture did a pretty fine job with it.

We do not have children right now, the rear seats do not get sat on. I have no pets to worry about. Plus i clean my leather seats and use some good leather protectant stuff from Meguairs.

I can live with a balanced black / light interior. I just cannot do black on black, it is very depressing for me, car space seems tighter too with a darker interior.

Thanks
Ameet.

I like the combination of the beige interior with the black accents, it will create a nice environment for me in the car.

It is easy on the eye, be it more hard to manage to keep it clean, Meguairs products make this job easier.

Full dark interior is not very practical, considering I live in Queensland.

So rubbing my hands together, I am off to either Jeep Albion or Jeep Aspley on Tuesday to upgrade my only 2 month young Laredo.

Ameet.

PS. Yoda, some very good information you have also provided, thank you.
Thats OK I don't have all the colours and interior colours that we are getting and I have had them for about 6 weeks
