Distributor for my Jeep - Chrysler Australia
Distributor for my ALFA - Chrysler Australia

I lay awake at night wondering where my life went so wrong....

I ordered some ALFA parts from the UK last night, same issues as Jeep so I get my bits offshore. The company I use have a great service, reply to emails withing a few hours even though it is the middle of the night for them. The parts should be here in a few days delivered to my door.

No, not at this time anyway. Single CD player is optional on Laredo 4x2 & 4x4, but is standard fit on Limited, Overland & SET8.

I've spoken to Milous about the tow hooks before and it was confirmed that the MY14 comes with the tow hook brackets fitted but no tow hooks attached. You can buy the tow hooks as OAM and get them fitted as with previous year models that have had the brackets fitted. There is a thread somewhere on Jeep garage about how to fit these tow hooks. Milous was not sure of the cost and labour required to get the tow hooks fitted. You can purchase the tow hooks in Chrome or black, I would find the link to them but am currently on my mobile. If someone hasn't posted a link to the tow hooks OAM, I'll try find it later. This is the link for the DIY, just remember, this is for the '11-'13 models so getting to the brackets will possibly be different.

WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

Edit: here is the link to just for jeeps for the tow hooks. Black, chrome and red available.

Cheers.

I'll believe you can fit recovery hooks when I physical see them on a gc sitting in a dealers yard.

I noticed that the fiat freemont ( rebadged dodge journey) that Chrysler are now selling in aus only got 4 Ncap stars - you guessed it - because it does not meet pedestrian safety standards. Apparently aus is not getting the same bonnet as fitted in Europe. So the contention that jeep aus deleted the tow hooks from our my12 gc as they were SO concerned about pedestrian safety is a load of crap. As far as im concerned, someone in jeep aus just stuffed up and had no idea how important recovery hooks are on a 4x4.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

If it is just the recovery hooks that are missing, and the chassis rails have reverted back to the MY11, you guys are lucky. You can always get the hooks shipped in from the US, which will be much cheaper than sourcing them here.
Just relect on us poor MY12 owners, who cannot even hit those hooks due to the changed chassis.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Allypally, on further research the Oberon is due in Auckland on the
16 May and leaves the same day....Some info on the Oberon below
OBERON - Vessel's Details and Current Position - 9377509 - 266283000

I don't think you noticed what was on the deck of the Oberon. If you take another look you'll see what looks like the first MY14 headed for OZ. If you look closly at the number plate I think it says 'cutnpaste'......

I just looked up the shipping schedules again, and could not match those dates.
I suspect the ship is the Oberon which can be seen in the below image. The unusual thing about this voyage, is that it is not scheduled to stop in Port Kembla, but in Newcastle.
So the Oberon is purely just speculation. There is no evidence put forward that there are any AU spec Jeeps on board.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It sorta is speculation, but I would put money on that the ship is "near full" of MY14's.
