Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

There are already 3 GC models in our small market. It could be that they consider a 4th to be bad investment, and simply do what they have already done with the Oz Overland, and that is to option it up to that of a Summit.
Who knows how they think?

They gave me Black upholstery.
ME: I wanted Beige Upholstery.
DEALER: Ohhhh. Isnt Beige standard colour?
ME: NO. Black is standard colour.
DEALER: No problem, we will build you a new one, with BEIGE>
DEALER: To Jeep Aust. Is there a scheduled to be build car with Beige Upholstery?
HQ: No. But there is one with Tan upholstery which we can alter as it has not yet hit assembly.
DEALER: Great.
ME: You built the 2nd car with the wrong upholstery. It is Tan
DEALER: Ohhhh. But we asked HQ if it could be changed.
ME: Did they confirm they made the change?
DEALER: Ohhhhh. But they said they COULD do it.
ME: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

So that is how cars get built with the wrong specifications.
As i had to order a car to get a car, i,m thinking i,ll trick it up make it somethig special from the factory. WRONG isnt going to happen. And i think i,m pleased they would,nt / could,nt do it as what a stuff up that would have been. If they carnt get a base model order correct what hope is there....................

When will Jeep Australia take the matter seriously
They need to take a few dealerships off some current dealers
Maybe hat would wake up the rest
Customer service is the service i as a customer require / expect / require / need / deserve.
Customer service from the dealers is the level of service they feel is all they need to do.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I think one of the main issues here is that there are very few "dedicated Jeep " dealers. They all seem to be sharing with other makes.
This also means that besides the sales team not intimately knowing their products, the servicing teams also play with other makes, and do not specialise in Jeep.
With such an approach, it is little wonder that there is mayhem prevailing.
On the dealership side, it is hard to stick with Jeep as a sole agent when their delivery is so spasmodic. You cant sell cars if you have no available stock. Not everyone is willing to wait 6 months for delivery.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to be launched in Indonesia soon
Hopefully above link will open up the Indonesian Jeep. Why do they do these Variants. They mention an Overland Variant. I hope that is not what we will get in place of a Summit.....an "Overland Variant". Disappointing but still hoping for good news.

Overland is a variant of the GC, just like Laredo, Limited, Summit and SRT. Jeep is the make, Grand Cherokee is the model, Overland is the model variant. Overland is not its own model, it's a variant of the GC. I think you're reading too much into things. Stop stressing yourself out.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just curious, with the MY11 - MY13 Laredo (Australian spec but possibly the same issue with the US spec) it didn't come with a FACTORY INSTALLED rear parking sensors option. If you wanted parking sensors then the dealer would install a Mopar kit.

But the Mopar dealer fitted kit is independant and is not connected to the EVIC, and i believe has no switch to deactivate it if you have a trailer attached and put it in reverse (the beeper will keep beeping like crazy).

The upper models have rear and front parking sensors connected to the EVIC. Is there any way to option a lower spec MY14 (Laredo) to have factory fitted (not dealer fitted) rear and/or front parking sensors that are connected to the EVIC like the upper spec models?

If not, why not? What is the difference and is there a electrical reason that it can't be done? The Aus version MY14 (all versions) i believe will get the RA3 radio and the rear parking camera as atandard, so there should be no reason why technically it can't be done.

If someone knows and could offer some info that would be great.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Not a technical issue, but a package issue. Jeep Australia wanted to differentiate the models.
I do not know what can be retrofitted. I guess a question for a service dept.
