Did they quote a dollar figure off rrp? Being fair to dealers I don't think they know pricing as yet. They won't know until JeepAU has its launch in early June.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

For those thinking about leasing and costs, I note the prices for JGC 13 models have been reduced on the Jeep Australia site. Assuming this is to clear the last stock before the MY14 is released. Most if not all lease companies won't have the 14 model on their books yet. The only way you can secure pricing is through a dealership and then take this to your lease company (well this is what I had to do). I think for all of us that have ordered, we have caveats in place to ensure we don't get hung out to dry. If I can gauge from what I've ordered with extras and taking into consideration potential price rises, I'm about par with the original RRP for the 13 model. So you can still get a good deal. The bottom line is the dealerships need cash flow, so they can't wait too long without a constant flow of sales. No one can be sure that when MY14 stock arrive at the dealers, that there will be any available for immediate sale or just demonstrators. I can only guess that most vehicles have already been allocated to pre-sales. I do know that when my vehicle arrives, the lease company will then take over the deal.

I'm still of the opinion my vehicle was allocated to me from original stock orders by Jeep Australia. Not a custom order getting through. Yes changes were made to option up, but if you can match stock that is coming through or make changes before a vehicle hits the factory for build status D1, you may not need to wait the full 4 months to get a vehicle. Fortunately at the time of my order, CRDs were being processed at the factory. I feel sorry for those that have been waiting longer than me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Dont forget, boys and gals,

The OBERON sails into Brisbane tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps Campbell Newman can organise a huge Welcoming Party for her.

Anyways, I reckon the Queensland chapter of the Jeep Grand Cherokee MY14 Official Fan Club should organise if the Prem doesnt for this memorable and historic event.

And can someone send an email, phone, snail mail or carrier pidgeon to Veronica Johns and her phantom cohorts and let them know they have a NEW model arriving on their doorsteps.

Perhaps they believe their own publicity and dealers and think the JGC MY14 is arriving in 2014!!

The other good news is after checking the shipping schedules, there's a boat heading to Australia every week from Curtis Bay. Who's going to get the first image out there?

Butts_Oz, Since I will be getting almost the exact same configuration as you as well as leasing that is great info. I do have one question though since I am yet to talk to a dealer. Is Australia the same as the US where if you order the diesel it automatically adds the Advanced Technology pack? If it doesn't what is the current asking price for this?

Thanks

Auscop

The ATG is on my build sheet listed in Optional Equipment. So is other standard items like the Diesel engine. I did specify this on my original order, but there was no cost associated with this. From what I can see, it should be part of the Overland CRD build. Your dealer should be able to confirm this for you. No special deal was made for the ATG for me.

My only reservation with them is if I get a quote from the local dealer then use PF , taking the car to the local dealer for service can be "awkward" . Or maybe I am just being too concerned for dealer feelings.
This was exactly my situation. I used a broker to get a good price but when things started to go pear shapped after delivery I got the distinct impression that the dealer thought they had got screwed over and as a result they were not inclined to be very helpful.

Of course the broker was no use in getting things fixed....

So once bitten, I'll be much more involved next time, and I won't be accepting delivery until I've done a full inspection of the car and EVERYTHING is correct.

Hi Snuke, the last time I checked online prices in BrisVegus was in April at the time of my order. The quote was in the 78K range for an Overland CRD back then. As you have stated, there has been a shift recently, but not maybe throughout the whole range. Your data is more specific, I agree. For me, I was aware of my actual cost and that there had been an adjustment.

It is interesting looking at the different current prices around the states of Australia. WA is the most expensive for an Overland CRD at $77026, the cheapest is Tassie at $73572 almost $3.5k less.

Order from most expensive to cheapest is

WA
VIC
NSW
QLD
SA
NT
ACT
TAS
