Since I dropped the GC Overland they were going to supply me due to the incorrect interior colour, I have had zero response in a obtaining a replacement E number, and know believe they never actually ordered the correct one, just tried to fob off one of their stock orders. Was informed the replacement is for May manufacture, but have zero faith in their accuracy.

Look at the fine print on a cancellation, cause it would cost me ~$1,500 (2%) to cancel unless they are 180 days late from contracted delivery date (for me that is 1 June 2013)

Hmmm not sure what I think of this .. Spode I best like it, it's what is coming in my limited

Have you actually asked for a cancellation? Given the circumstances I can't see them trying for the fee. If they did I would complain straight to fair trading. They have not suffered from the cancellation ( they have not got a car in they can't sell and placing an order does not cost anything ) so charging a fee is not justified.

Let us know how you go

I sent a please explain to Anne Tanner Sales Coordinator - Northern Region today, have to wait and see if I get a reply.

I would like to float an idea to members. Individually we represent $60,70,80k to Jeep but combined we represent millions. I would like to suggest a National Cancel Jeep Orders Day. Set up a FB page, plus use this forum and if our questions to Jeep are not answered within 30 days. Everyone with a vehicle on back order cancels it on the same day. We should request
1. Evidence that our orders have been placed
2. Approximate date for the intended launch of the 2014
3. Release to customers of build progress and shipping details on each order upon request from customer or dealer.

Anybody have a view? Suggestions or modifications?

Alan
Your reaction Alan was exactly my husbands when he read Tanner's internal email. But the truth is, it won't make a scrap of difference. Chrysler/Jeep AU will still whistle to their own tune.

Look at this article from a month ago - Veronica Johns - new CEO and we thought she would or could make a difference. We were wrong. I'll link the article in its entirety but first a few choice quotes from it:

The first thing that caught my eye was the headline:
Business as usual: Oh dear.

Then these:

Quote:
“I’ve been part of Chrysler Group for a very long time, but since Clyde came online we started the new direction of the group maintaining the Fiat and Alfa brands, the overall direction of the business is that we want to be a serious player in the Australian market,”
Only about Fiat and Alfa sadly.

and this:

Quote:
“The new models that we’re bringing in (for Chrysler Group products) are mainly model refreshes ... but Fiat and Alfa is where the business is going to see the most growth for us.
My bold. Really??

Here's the link to whole thing:

Chrysler - Fiat Chrysler makes history with new appointment | GoAuto

but from reading that, they don't care about the Jeep brand. Her directive appears to be all about Fiat and Alfa.

It doesn't bode well does it. No mention of the Jeep brand in that article at all. What do we actually have as far as media presence with regards to the GC or infact Jeep overall?

Just bad, very bad TV commercials encouraging the purchase of a Compass complete with a well trained dog. I want the dog but not the vehicle.

The upshot is, they don't care. However given all that, I still want the Overland, I won't be cancelling our order. Although admittedly, I did take a quick look today at the RR Sport and the Audi again.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well I sort of got a reply from Ms Tanner.
She got the email, and the next thing Jeep are on the phone to the dealer wanting the sale person who forwarded it me sacked.

Apparently it caused quite a stir as people in the ivory tower of jeep are not accustomed to having to deal with the public. However we did get some sort of response, we are being told now finally that the vehicle has been built and we should have it by the end of June. 9 f*&king months after it was ordered. You can create an entire new human in that time. This will without doubt be our first and last Jeep.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Being a devils advocate here for a second. The new CEO could be just saying that they are focusing on Fiat and Audi as the place for most growth since Chrysler and Jeep have a stronger foothold within the market. Can't even remember the last time I say a Fiat driving around. I personally at the moment would read too much in to those quotes.

Nice one.
I am curios, did they give you an approximate timeline for delivery when you ordered?

Hello Everyone,

While we wait to see what Father Christmas will bring us, I thought I would give some of you something to think about.

Like everyone else, I have placed an order and have been patiently waiting for news or at least an indication of when I will have to arrange my finances, but like everyone else I am in the dark along with my dealer.

I wanted a Summit and whilst I think CJD will eventually release this model in AU, I think Father Christmas will be here sooner, so have had to settle for a CRD Overland.

One thing I did like about the Summit was the wheel arch trims and bumper, looked more complete, not to mention the bold look of the SRT8. Would have loved the SRT look without the V8 as I will not be doing any serious off roading, but that is not to be.

So I did some digging around, asked a lot of questions about the part numbers for the SRT8 bumper and styling parts and came up with a PDF of the parts needed, see attached. I know it is for the 2013 model but in this department I think it will be very similar on the 2014 if not the same.

Maybe if some of us come together and pool resources we could buy a set of parts, make some moulds and create our own styling kit.........?

Interested in your comments........regards, JosephR

Having worked for major U.S. companies for 25+ years. It is going to take a new CEO at least a month or two to get their office decorated to their liking. After that they may start to focus on business.
