So is this Jeep admitting that the release date will be in late June?

Without actually confirming a date, the indication is that the launch will be in two or three weeks. I noticed today that Land Rover have the new RR Sport up on their web site with information about pre orders. So it would seem likely that Jeep is not far away.

Many of the comments I have read provide reasonable argument for us the customer to be upset with Jeep Australia with the way we have been treated. When I commenced my journey in July 2012 and decided that a Jeep was the best value for money, it was going to take 4 months to have a custom order arrive at the dealership. Yes there has been a factory refit and some have been caught up in this process, but I was well aware that any order was likely to take a considerable amount of time before I would see the end result. For those that did some research knew a new model was on the way. I waited so I could order a ’14 model and I am sure it is unfortunate for those that have been caught in the gap between models and even more unlucky for those whose vehicles were incorrectly managed.

I'm not supporting the lack of information being provided by the dealer or the company, but we all are well aware that it takes time for the factory to build, the ship to sail and finally clear customs. Any delivery within 3-4 months is what I expected when I placed my order.

I also am seeing an increase in Jeep advertising, so something is on the way. Hopefully the wait will be over and we can expect a little more information to please not only us, but the general public. It's the wait that hurts and the lack of information in keeping their customers informed. That's all we expect when you make a considerable financial commitment to buy a vehicle.

I was told today by my novated lease company that the dealers will be getting pricing next week which is the beginning of June. This is in line with what you have heard.

Yes we were told end of January beginning of February, which fitted perfectly with our end of current lease. Then we were told there would be a delay due to the model update. Since then, like everyone else we have been told nothing, nor has the dealer. Through my previous job I dealt with car companies alot, Ford and Holden mostly and never had such poor customer service. Our last purchase was through Subaru, and exactly like this we hit the model update. We were kept apprised every step of the way and the vehicle actually arrived earlier than stated by a few days. We knew when it was being built and shipped. Unless things change dramatically this will be our first and last Chrysler Jeep purchase, and through no fault of the poor dealer.

Without going back through this rather lengthy thread, I recall that the announcement was pencilled in for first week of June with first sales ( hopefully ) around 3rd week of June. I seriously can't see dealers waiting until July. They will have nothing to sell for June and June is one of their two "sales" months in the year.

How would you like to be a dealer with mortgages, business finance and all the normal commitments and nothing to sell? It's their nightmare. They will be pressuring jeep au more than we are.

LOL, so true it's not funny. I really don't think VJ will do anything in her new role. If anything, she might drink more coffee.....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well, I ordered my very first Jeep 3 weeks ago, SRT8, deep cherry red. I have been a Toyota man all my life, but decided that I needed a fast toy that can still tow the boat!

I am looking forward to that first drive so much! I have even spent the last couple of hours watching YouTube clips, drooling at the sight and sound of this beast!

I have been following jeep garage since I made my decision to purchase and I thought that the pain that everone was expressing might be exaggerated. But, alas, I am now feeling the pain too!

I was advised that my order was placed, and when I asked about the e number I was told that I would have it in day's, now I am still told it will be days. I am not so sure.

I just hope that the release is imminent as it may appear to be ty other posts as I will not wait for months and months like I am hearing that some have!

Good luck everyone with there purchases, hope they appear for every soon!

Lewie77, Welcome to the forum... Pretty new myself, sadly I still have not ordered my Overland as I need a firm quote and my lease company can't seem to get one until next week. Know what you mean about YouTube been doing that for a few weeks. I sit there for hours watching YouTube on the TV.

Hi Lewie77
Congrats on the new (eventually) ride.
I am waiting on final pricing for my lease company to order my cherry red SRT
Did your dealer give you an approximate delivery date?

In about nine months they may be telling you when you can have the car you paid for. Welcome to the pain of expectant jeephood. They may, or may not place your order with the US in the next two months and Jeep will not be giving out E numbers or other order codes anymore and if a dealer refers you to the head office, they threaten the dealer with the sack. They don't want to talk to little people. Enjoy the experience.

I don't know who is sillier? A dealer who takes orders for a car for which they can't provide details of, or a person who places an order for a car which there are no details provided...??

I walked into a Jeep dealership a couple of months ago and I knew more about the car then the salesman did. No way would I buy a car on the word of what it might be like.

I'm waiting til I can see one in the flesh so I know what I'm getting before I part with any of my cash.
