Hi Milous, Have you seen an Overland spec for Australia yet? seems the dealers are indicating no Summit at this stage... (but who knows !)

I've heard that our Overland will be summit spec this year. This from my dealer, so its to be taken with a grain of salt.

It is not looking good. Still hoping/preying Milous will save the day. More and more dealers are firming on the Overland external shape with many of the Summit options as standard. The word consistently coming in from dealers across the Country is as above. The question now is, :why did Milous see two Summits addressed for shipment to Chrysler Aust HQ at Port Melbourne, Australia. If Aussies wanting Summits are going to be forced to accept the Overland external body shape with many Summit options included then there is very little we can do. The deception to many purchases will be complete if Chrysler Australia brings out the Summit as in America AFTER many Aussies have collected their Summits. One ponders the reason! Are those two Summits being shipped to Melbourne for top execs to drive personally or for the purpose of considering adding this vehicle to the Australian Livery. Milous has stated that it is an extremely expensive excercise to produce these prototype cars for anything other than very very serious consideration (as in it means almost certain) to adding to the Australian range. Many Aussies are now receiving confirmation that their orders are "locked" in for April Builds. If that is the case then we must rely on our dealers integrity that we will not be driving the "pen-ultimate" (one model before/below the Ultimate) car later this year.

Sorry, first message was wrong. Corrected in following message. Meant to say "Aussies have collected their OVERLANDS".

All the mystery is just making me delay my order, I am even looking at other brands as an alternative as suspense is killing me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

To be fair I should add another correction. I should not be referring to "dealers integrity" because they are only relaying what they are told from Head Office. Any deception would not be by our dealers, who in many cases have gone out of their way to obtain information for their customers. Any suspicion of deception would be by Chrysler Australia. I hope not.

but what does that really mean ? A Summit with overland badge or an overland with Summit features.
Of the ovelands for Aust that Milous has seen they did not have HK sound system or adaptive headlights.
From info I have they will most likely be same as US overland but with Advanced Saftey group and Quadra Drive II as standard.... The debate continues until more facts are brought to the table..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I dont know why you guys are getting so worked up about the Summit/Overland models.
Jeep Australia has been doing this for years. If you look at the specs on the Aussie Overland, and compare it to the Overland in the US, you will see that the Aussie model has many more features. The 2 markets are not the same, which is quite evident with the CRD model, which has not been available in the US, but here for years.
As I stated before, I doubt if the Aussie market will be sufficient to support 4 vanilla GC varients, not taking into account the SRT.

thought the same many times but hard to beat the bang for you bucks with the Overland... 2-3 year old Rangie Sport maybe new model about to come out so prices are dropping.

fwdjeep is on a distinguished road
Chill out guys
I agree that Jeep Australia does not do customer service /information very well
But that being said, australia have always been a place that is full of compromise when importers make decisions on what we get
Example the stupid decision 7 years ago by Nissan to drop the Pulsar range and replace it with the fugly crap re branded renault
It took them 7 years of no sales to admit wrong
So Jeep Australia is in this in good company
The have no idea of what their customers really want or require
If they did all grand cherokees would have come with rated front recovery points

I for one not interested in the Summit
