Hi Bretto,
If you have paid a deposit, and the clause is contained in the document then you have a valid contract until executed. Its not about customer service, its law.

So I am guessing if this is the case all imported cars can be expected to go up by the same amount? Makes sense to me. Now since I know who my fleet manager is and we don't know who you are and don't know the name or position of your "source" so for the time being I will choose to ignore your posts as they are irrelevant at the moment. I guess by next week we will see.
I do recall seeing somewhere on my build sheet about international price protection .. I imagined this was there to not make the price go when the dollar dropped down ?? Anyone know what that is all about?

Hi Bretto,
The only important contract is between you and your dealer. Most people just sign and do not realise that they are bound by what they sign except for a few exceptions. You were cleaver enough to lock in a max price rise clause. Well done.

Pulitzer Prize for you email mate!

Very early on we did have Overlander magazine on board in the hunt for info (facebook questions fell on deaf ears or were lost among the sea of cutomer complains being posted)
Maybe ping some of the motoring jornos again see if they have any news. Im out now so cant be shagged.

Some of the early shipments would be here and for all we know they may alresdy have conducted a local media demo and those guys would be under embargo until offical press release.
The info is out there..

Congrats, hopefully you will be able to bring your new baby home soon!!
Good time to ask, with all the new immigrants arriving on our shores, has anyone seen, heard, smelt, touched or tasted a 2014 JGC yet?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I'd have to say, that a price increase would see me dip out of a GC. In spite of the the aud weakness of the past 4 weeks, it's a trivial matter corporately, to lock in the price of 1.02 or whatever if that was a concern. Given there is upwards of $20,000 margin compared to a US supplied vehicle, the idea that they can't absorb 7% because of a lack of planning is bordering on preposterous.

They surely could do with the turnover, especially for the CRD's of which they will sell plenty in Australia .

I agree. The mainstream 4x4 magazines have a lead time of several weeks for each issue, so if Jeep intend their press release to be published in the magazine to line up with release of the car (in June?) the information will have already been given to the magazines - maybe even a drive day has been held.

However, I'm not sure how interested the mainstream magazines will be in what to them will be a mid model update of the WK2. It might rate a few lines in their news section - but a full test review? I doubt it.

Dunno about that .. Perfect opportunity to do the cliche making a huge spread of comparing apples to oranges vis e vis the 14 GC to the new RR

We shall see...

Who do you think buys 4x4 Australia and Overlander? Prado drivers, not GC and RR drivers. So they target their stories to Prado drivers.

Same problem with Wheels magazine - endless stories about Commodores and Falcons. (Yikes! - Wheels are in trouble now the Falcon is gone).
