Thanks Mrmaker for the above info.To answer Alanqld question I'll start at the beginning.I made two PH calls to my dealer and one in person visit. In all of the conversations I've had with the dealer I've sought of come to the conclusion that the dealers have had their hands tied.At no time have I been or felt fobbed off.A smart salesperson would try and strike up a sensible relationship with a paying customer.Like most people word of mouth goes a long way or it does with me in this case(repeat custom). The dealer simply emailed me the number.Hopefully the being fair dinkim approach will continue as it has so far. This is my first Jeep and I would not even known about E numbers if it was'nt for a forum as such,so thanks jeepgarage and the guys that contribute.
Alleyoop.

Ask Jeep or the dealer if they would like to offset that loss. will be the answer. Expect to see your vehicle in November December. The release it is now being said will be in two to three weeks. Lots of vehicles on back order and promises have been made the those orders will be filled first. With people like me who ordered in October 2012 ahead of you, plus the fleet and press vehicles if your order is placed on launch day, it may not get to America for 2 months and then they will start the build. That has been the experience of others on this form.
The residual on my lease extension has reduced equating to a reduction of approx $2k over 3 months.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Excellent letter and summary of how most of us on JEEPGARAGE feel. I have copied your letter and forwarded it to my dealer with the suggestion that he forward it to his contact within the Chrysler/Jeep Australia. If everyone did this there would have to be a response from Management.
I am sure that the dealers are being kept in the dark like us. And I am sure that they are hurting from the continual threat that some of us can't wait any longer and we walk down the street for a Patrol, Prado, BM, or what ever. The dealers have to pay wages, mortgages, fees etc and they have bugger all to sell. It's June!!! The month that they normally would be boosting their sales because of the end of the financial year!
Hopefully your letter will be read and understood by Chrysler/Jeep and they will realize that the JEEPGARAGE forum is full of enthusiasts who have decided to buy "their" product unseen except for the US test drives and data on the web. "Feed us mushrooms" some info and you may even be able to harness and use our enthusiasm. Cheers
PS I ordered Deep Cherry Red Overland with adventure pack & black interior in January 2013. My wife and I am still excited!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Not sure if this is useful to anyone, but I got an "out of the blue" call from my dealer yesterday, to say he had some information on my order from Jeep AU. This was to say my vehicle would be built in the coming days. Being the skeptic that I am (especially in the case of dealing with Jeep AU), when he mention that he could get me a VIN# I jumped at it. So I got that VIN within a few minutes, gave it to Milous, and suddenlu my order which was sitting in "not yet scheduled" to that point, suddenly is showing as having moved to D1 2 weeks ago, with expected delivery 7/23.

So my point here is, if you're build tracking isn't giving you any information, but you're dealer is telling you it's progressing, push for a VIN. It worked for me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

facts proven over time are that 1. women are great communicators ( we share )
2. we have somewhat of an influence over spending on big ticket items in the home ( we encourage/ quietly manipulate lol ) so if jeep had any idea at all about the effect of word of mouth / social media then then they should be aware that not only can these afore mentioned skills be used in a positive way ( good for jeep free pr ) but also can work against them big time. It's bad enough that we are treated like we don't know the difference between a windscreen wiper and a tow bar by a puffed up salesperson without all of us , men and women being treated in such a dismissive and patronising fashion. Here's hoping someone in jeepau will sometime soon 'get it' about what customer service really means......... don't ever underestimate the power of the missus !!!!!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I just had a look at the Jeep UK website and still featuring the 2013 model with no prices or features for the MY14.

But they do have the 2014 featured on a prominent page with updates being able to be emailed to you (I signed up for updates) when available I suppose.
Jeep UK | 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - www.jeep.co.uk

I then went to Jeep Switzerland and same thing, MY13 featured but this time a MY14 page with comprehensive information.

They did have a price for a Base Model MY14 with CRD, a figure of;

"Basispreis New Grand Cherokee CHF 57‘900.-
3.0 CRD Laredo"
* inkl. SWISS FREE SERVICE 10 Jahre oder 100‘000km ( including SWISS FREE SERVICE 10 years or 100'000km)
* bis zu 3.500 kg Zugkraft (up to 3,500 kg pulling)
Interesting theyre quoting 570nm torque and 184 Kw power for the diesel

Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2014 (Pays to speak German)

Now CHF 57,900 converts at todays prices to A$62,516 for that model.
So it seems we may be looking at a $2,000+ increase on a Laredo with incremental increases for other models.

One interesting point with the MY14 Laredo is that they dont have Cherry Red as a colour option but they do have a reasonably comprehensive component list there.

Why cant our mob do the same?????????????????

Bluey

Standard Laredo features in Europe'
2014 Grand Cherokee Laredo Standard equipment highlights:

• 8-speed automatic transmission
• 18'' alloy wheels
• Bi-xenon headlamps with
LED daytime running lights
• Uconnect ® Smartouch multimedia system with 8.4''
Touch Screen, Bluetooth and voice control
• Tire pressure monitoring system, automatic
Headlight activation and rain sensor
• electrically adjustable front seats

AND....... SORRY TO SAY BOYS & GALS, THE DO GET THE SUMMIT OVER THERE!!!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

THE WAIT IS OVER
Just received a call from my dealer. I would love to publicly promote and praise him but I cannot. The information may well change because nothing is certain but Chrysler Australia are working flat out to get this car on display and into the market place for us.
If their are no last minute hiccups you will be able to call in to your dealer, with a little bit of luck on Saturday the 15th and view an MY14. He has assured me that Chrysler are working flat out behind the scenes to release this car. Your dealer may even allow you a "sneak" preview around Saturday 8th June. I hope this posting does not upset Chrysler Australia. I am trying to be careful here BUT they are going flat out and IT'S ALL ABOUT TO HAPPEN. Pricing released around 14th June. Owners start taking possession after that. Congratulations Chrysler Australia, you have a car that will rock the industry.

Hi webber,

Any indication regarding the pricing? Hopefully that 7.5% is way out, personally I wouldn't cop that price rise.
