If their are no last minute hiccups you will be able to call in to your dealer, with a little bit of luck on Saturday the 15th and view an MY14. He has assured me that Chrysler are working flat out behind the scenes to release this car. Your dealer may even allow you a "sneak" preview around Saturday 8th June. I hope this posting does not upset Chrysler Australia. I am trying to be careful here BUT they are going flat out and IT'S ALL ABOUT TO HAPPEN. Pricing released around 14th June. Owners start taking possession after that. Congratulations Chrysler Australia, you have a car that will rock the industry.
Webber, these timelines also back up what I received today. It does seem that there is a coordinated effort for dealers to receive an collective update around the 12th. I am aware that there are vehicles (petrol models only so far) here in Brisbane, so they do exist. As soon as they are available for review, I'm in.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

FYI, received my E number yesterday and thanks to Milous I have spec and car location.
car left USA on 5th May and will arrive in Brisbane on 8th June on ship named Tugela.
The spec mentions R20 wheels which is a concern as I ordered off road adventure which has r18 wheels. There also is no mention of the adventure pack on the spec sheets.

Given you vehicle is on the boat, your dealer is able to track and advise you of the configuration. The build sheets to date have been our fact sheets and we have found errors between orders and what has been produced. You may need someone to tell you exactly what you have coming so they can let you down gently if someone got it wrong.

You will probably find that the dealer will swap the wheels before you see it.

They would need to add the skid plate as well

Oberon has been to Adelaide is now 50 k's from Fremantle, which means most states have MY14's (may be) release is imminent.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Reading through this thread just reminded me of a past experience.

In 2005 I was after a Mazda 6. I went to the first dealer and after a while he said he would look up stock of that colour. Came back and said there is one about to go on the boat that is not allocated to anyone so in about 3 weeks all would be good.

Shopping around, went to a 2nd dealer and after some talk he did the same thing and found the same car. After negotiations we did the deal and then he logged back into the computer and allocated that car to his dealership for me and 3 weeks later I had it.

My question is, how come it is now 8 years later and with all the advances in access to data that have occurred, why do JCD dealers have less info, tracking and control over stock?

Good luck to all those who have been waiting, may your ship come in soon.

The question would have to be asked, if you were trying to buy the Mazda 6 before it had been launched?

Spoke to a dealer today, and it was interesting how they are aware of vehicles in the country, that they are all petrol until the next ship, and its probably 2 weeks from accurate numbers. Got to wonder whether they get their info from jeep garage, or if jeep garage has forced jeep Australia to give out all the info.

At least this young lady was aware the nav was coming for the limited, but was still pretty confident of a small price rise, especially since taking orders with guaranteed prices

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Guys, with all of the concerns about price hikes, well this is where Jeep Garage can be a powerful resource. If prices do increase, we have the consumer right to cancel our order and receive a full refund of our deposit... or.... we could pool our resources together and report on this forum our best price negotiated and use that as leverage. I do believe that the best price should get our business.

Guys, do you want to get involved in this or are we going to act like whinging poms?! (Sorry to our British readers..). What do you think?

Honestly have no idea and I do not believe the dealer does either. Chrysler Australia willl be finalising that now but would like to think 7.5% would be too high. Hopefully what dealers have already speculated would be more accurate with increases between $1K to $2K.
