Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Robo m8,

You're getting to the OCD stage!! (My wife says I'm not far behind you tho!!)

It cant be doing your blood pressure readings any good with this Jeep GC issue. For the life of me, doesnt this Company know that communication is the name of the game???

If they advise their current/future/prospective customers of what is going on then surely that would improve their business??

Ive traded my tow vehicle in on the JGC and I'm housebound till we get the new one. (Half right, we're going to South Africa in a few weeks so that will cut the wait down by 6 weeks.)
Will keep my eye out for a new MY2014 over there!!

Good comparison between the 13/14 models in fixer69er post. Was a bit worried that the chrome bling had gone but its OK.

Frankston Jeep say they can fit the chrome lattice grille infill when it gets here for me to trick it up a bit (At a big cost tho, surprise, surprise)

So as the yanks say Robo, chill out pal.

We can compare notes when we get the VIN/VON/E number. (Eventually)

Bluey

Hey Bluey .. I can't complain I only have to wait 4 months now. Others here worse off been waiting 12 mths already.. Lets just say the damn thing better be worth the wait!!!, the reviews coming out would seem to indicate it is.
How was Frankston to deal with ?

Oh and I'm sure Webber will be interested in the grill bling, make it look a bit like a Summit 😊

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You can see what aPremium we are paying Downunder for this Jeep GC.

On the Features and Changes posty this Illinois dealer is selling an MY14 Overland for US$48,685.
That converts to A$47,567 for an Overland, only a 3.6 petrol though.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, $48,685 - Cars.com

Wonder what the transport costs are to get it to OZ for each unit??

so they just launched this "Trail Hawk"? and in 3-4 months the thing is out dated..
gee i would be well pissed if i bought this and then found out about the '14.
seems stupid to even launch it !

Hopefully if they can get the hooks on this the 2014 will come with the hooks also. ( this pedestrian safety thing is mad.. if you step in front of a Jeep GC doing 60k your rooted regardless of hooks or no hooks)

Yep, just put it on ye' olde Facebook.

I'm more hoping that the hooks on the 2013 Trailhawk (Export) can acquired and be fitted on other 2013 JGC's

Add your 10% GST when it comes into the country and you are at $A52,323 Then you'll probably have to pay to have it go through Customs/Quarantine.

Google comes up with a starting price of around $A 3,500 for USA->Australia shipping.

Add shipping insurance and the fact that you'll probably need some special certification so you can register & drive your LHD vehicle in Australia and I'd say you are looking at forking out at least $A60,000 plus a bit more

Admittedly economies of scale come into play for Jeep/Chrysler when shipping their stock around the world. Unfortunately cares aren't like consumer electronics, there are a few more regulatory hurdles to jump through when selling a vehicle compared to a TV or laptop.

nahh. I want Jeep to sell all their 12/13 stock so there is no excuses to delay our MY14 orders. Joe Public is our ally and required to mop up the old stock

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

dont forget our wonderfully pathetic Luxury Car Tax is good for $3-4K on an Overland.

Now impacts about 15% of all vehicles sold, was only about 3% when it first came out.
