Maybe just a chance orders will arrive in July rather than August/September as some are now claiming.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Discounts will clear those out when required. Plus, my dealer has 2 srt's that aren't even listed, so the real figure would likely be a few times that.

Stay tuned for 4-5 months of silence, followed by an influx of dealer stock to choose from.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Jeep dealers had a habit ( and most likely still do) of placing phantom orders in an effort to get stock. Jeep Australia's policy was that each order had to be for a customer. Therefore, when these orders arrive, the dealer wont advertise them, so must try to sell them quietly.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I would bet that you will not be able to get an Overland CRD before Christmas, unless you order now. The news about the MY14's is out and people will flock to them, more than ever. The gap to the Euro's has closed even more, so people will see a $30k saving off a BMW/Audi/Merc in comparison to the JGC. I expect the Overland (and Summit?) to be massive sellers here in Oz.
Lets hope the dealers pull their fingers out and start to match the service levels people who spend $80k on a car expect.

people are still going into dealers ordering MY12/13 models which they can no longer get so all those orders will role over to MY14. So you have the normal sales volumes and then on top new buyers who know about the '14.

I saw some sales stats in 4x4 Australia and the Jeep GC is in 3rd place ( for real 4x4 wagons) only behind Landcruiser and Prado at around 900 sales per month and thats probably limited by supply.
Your right in that waiting lists for Overland, specifically diesels ( loads of V6 & V8 going cheap), will blow out to Xmas within the next couple of months

also noticed a lot of the interviews with senior Jeep management talk about conversion wins where they are taking sales off BMW, Merc etc.

That's interesting Robo, would those figures include fleet sales of Prado and LC's? If so, then the JGC figures are remarkable for a vehicle that people are prepared to wait 7-9 months for.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just popped into a dealer in inner western Sydney today (2nd March), they still have no offical news about the 14 GC and they have no idea when Chrysler Australia will be releasing any info.

He said a few people had ordered the 14s and they based the price on the 13 pricing.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

With the past history of Jeep AU, they will release the info the day the first '14 is delivered. PEople will get the wrong cars, get told about unforeseen BS delays and a whole world of confusion.
My car was ordered in early MAy 2011, yet they did not have CRD's in their system until the end of July. Everyone ordering CRD's had to order and pay for Hemi's with a note to say it was a CRD.
Jeep AU is run my monkeys, who have NFI about their customers or their dealers.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Visiting Sydney from Perth this weekend. Called into Penrith Jeep and was told by salesman they were taking orders for MY2014 with same specifications as MY2013 but no Summit. Prices unknown but were up on current model. Did score an excellent 2013 brochure.

MILOUS, MILOUS, MILOUS: Is this why we should still hold out hope for a Summit?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

breaking news...

Spoke to a Victorian dealer today and was advised they are expecting an MY14 demonstrator to arrive in May. late April at a push .. said all the dealers will be getting one.
Now it could just be a sales tactic to get a contract or this might explain some of the units Milous saw going down the line already for Aust. They were also a little more bullish on arrival dates being in late May - June.
Again, confirmation that there is NO Summit model just a high-spec Overland much like we have now.

They also have some information they will email me, not sure if this is official info or just from their head, will let you know if/when i see it.
