Actually, I would like to see Milous confirming Overlands AND Summits!

I had a dealer ring me today and say they are taking orders now on Overlands only and they have locked in pricing... That may change... $80k for and overland they say Summit is confirmed as not coming...

JKAU, I was waiting for the Summit. Not looking good. Are you now going with the Overland?

JK - Locked in pricing must mean they have locked in the specification for the Oz Overland. Did the dealer share this with you?

MILOUS, anymore tidbits yet. Should potential Summit buyers in Oz start seriously negotiating on Overlands or should we wait?

JKAU, $80K for an Overland, your joking right ? That's $4-5k more which is mad.. Would have to seriously rethink if that's true... Unless it gets ALL the Summit gear

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Guys, Our Overland models were very similar to the USA summits. The only differences were the chrome mirrors and some other cosmetic bits.
Do not get hung up on the Summit models, our Overlands will most likely have the adaptive headlights and top spec audio.
In Oz we do not generally get the same range of options as they do OS, as it is more costly to offer bespoke made cars. They would rather offer models with a couple of costly options.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

SRT questions. Maybe Milous might have some input here. Please...

Does anyone know if the the remote start via key / internet / smart phone will be available on the Australia spec SRT?

Does anyone have a date of when the order banks for the SRT will open?

I have an internal order number from Jeep, but after asking for a VON / E number or anything else to track the order / build, I'm told that "they have not gone into production so I cannot supply a VIN. I can give you an internal reference number #000xxxxxxx. Please note that this is unconfimed as they have not started build."

I'm very keen to get my order in the queue at the factory and start tracking it.

If there's any information about the order banks openeing, then I can hassle the dealer at the right time and let him get on with his job of selling other cars in the meantime.

Thanks in advance,

GB

Actually, I would like Milous confirming LAREDO CRD's. Not everyone is opting for the Overlands/Summits.

I did see in aprevious post that the grille surround colour had changed in the Laredo's, is that right Milous. Could you confirm the details of any changes to the Laredo at this time.

Thanks
Bluey

Remote start: no. Aust regulations do not permit it. Stupidity prevails! There are other threads here that you can check out where this has already been discussed, but the short is that they can't do it here, and it's very difficult to have added, due to differing parts in the steering column.

Order banks: Not sure. Basically you put you're order in, and you pray. Jeep/Chrysler AU hold all the cards close to their chests currently. My order is supposed to go into production in April, and I'm told I'll get an E-number then, however I take everything the dealer tells me with a grain of salt. They mostly appear to be biding their time right now.

Remote start is not illegal in Australia, it just can't be done on the GC because of the different steering column and steering lock.

The VF Commodore is supposed to be having remote start, and there are a few cars which have had it previously. There are also the aftermarket ones available

You're right though, short answer is it can't be done with a WK2.
