Yeah same complex, have not heard from paige in a while. They seem to always be switching what cars they sell in that yard, it pisses me off, it would be good to have a dedicated Jeep person.

I was pissed with the QLD office as was my missus, but in the end, and after a bit of research I found that all was coming from the VIC office, and above them, the US. Unfortunately for us who wear maroon, the QLD office are but somewhat pawns, stuck between a rock and the proverbial shite place. Back off with the harassment. Last time I heard, AlanQld, the QLD sales manager was some bloke. Facts people. Quit bullsh$&ing semantics and start talking up your rides...whether you currently have received them or not. I could have bought a cruiser but put up with the crap that comes from Jeep AU, and finally got a reasonable purchase.

That SRT club at Waitara is a very interesting carrot for that dealer. A joint SRT and HSV track day would be awesome. We could take a std club sport but the new GTS with that supercharged engine might cause some problems. It is talking about 0-100klm times under 4 sec!

Include the mountains in the Hills and count me in for the club.

Okay you want facts....

As for talking up my ride, Perhaps I would if I could A. Find out where it is, B. Be told when I am likely to get my hands on it. C. Actually get to drive it.

Hows that for facts?

Therein lies the beginning of your problems, the requirements of the car guarantee that it has to be built for you off an order ( as it always does when you add factory options). Then the lease company specifies a 2013 build. Don't know what the arrangements are, but with that sort of requirement the car can't be ordered until 2013.

Blame the lease company for such a rediculous caveat on a car ordered in sept 12, or yourself for not overiding them ( I have had to with an s15 200sx in the past - it just took a phone call re the build date can be more than 90 days old since they were out of production at the time).

Given the lease company, your first possible delivery date is March/April.

Then the factory changes model runs and no new cars are going to be built for order until May 2013 for delivery June July. So it's going to be 90 days overdue.

To be straight Alan, if you require that many specific options, you are always going to have to wait 4 months or more for an imported vehicle. If you want it faster, you look through the current stock, and choose the closest you can find. second, you tell the fleet company to get a grip - the 2013 requirement is stupid, especially for an import.

The doWnside of jeep aus, is presumably they didn't inform you of this stuff, but from their point of view, the customer is the fleet company, for a vehicle required at the northern tip of qld- they may well assume that the fleet company knows what they are doing and can communicate with their customer - Alan. Also fleet companies don't do service, they do price.

Castle Hill is a real problem - they have had several sales staff though the place in the last 6 months so there is no dedicated person who knows anything about Jeep. This is my local dealer from my Holden days but I've just about given up on them. I had my last service done at Narellan.

This "club" will have an $85K membership fee.

I have been involved in a couple of car clubs over the years, but both with well established brands and clubs that had a long history that have been around for years.

The Holden Sporting Car Club was CAMS affiliated and very much club sport focused, at the time had been around for 25 years. But still struggled to get new members beyound a main core. It turned out in the end to be the "Club that supports the two guys who race MR2's" club. The ability to get a club that caters for all interests, track days, social, touring, show and shine etc is really hard. Then try and organise day that suits everyone...

The reality is that the number of people who would be willing to run their SRT at a track days on a regular basis would be tiny. Be prepared for special tyres (are you wiling to wear out your road tyres in 10 laps?) just for a start - What are track tyres worth on an SRT - $3000??

If you really want to do a track day I suggest you go off and do one with a commercial operator - that is all Alex at Waitara would arrange anyway.

I'm now in the Alfa club which is quite active, but it has been around for years, is Australia wide and has members with many many models of cars - so it has depth. The MX5 club is strong too.

One brand clubs are tough enough, but one model? Wow - good luck.

Hey, but I still think you should give it a go. Maybe there is a SRT club in USA that you could become affiliated with? The Hills Chapter?

Yes - i have the same issue. My contract is with them at the moment for the SRT. Since last November - they have had a HUGE staff turnover, Paige and Steve left, then Paige came back, the Dealer Principal Kris Madgwick left, and a new guy Emanuele Cirillo came on board. I have shared my concerns with quite a few people at Heartland and at Chrysler Jeep - but really it is up to Heartland to ensure that their customers are appropriately looked after. I don't have a huge amount of faith that this will happen though

They move their staff around so much none of them can build up the necessary knowledge base to help a customer with a basic sale. We are at the same point - we want to make a decision before our car arrives as to where we take it in the future for servicing etc.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Things are looking grim for us actually becoming Jeep owners. Wife spoke with the dealer yesterday and all all she got was the runaround and excuses. The dealer blamed Jeep, the Lease Company, even us for the delays and stuff ups.
They did offer the use of a hire car until our vehicle arrives, but only once they have confirmation of shipping. We told them it was on a boat, and emailed them the shipping information (Thanks Milos) but not good enough they want it confirmed by Jeep. Then we come home and find that in Victoria a dealer actually has 2014's on the showroom floor! F*&k! What is with this company?
We drove the 2012 model and we were very impressed, excellent vehicle to drive, comfort handling everything was spot on. BUT.. the entire experience with the dealer and Jeep makes it so sour. Tuesday is crunch day. Thanks to this forum I know exactly what is going on and there is no reason for us not to be told the same information officially through Jeep and the Dealer. If they can't get their shit together and be honest and open with us, we will chose to deal with someone who is. Bottom line is when spending this much money you want to deal with someone you can trust.
